I never thought I would be pulling for Jimmie Johnson. I guess that says how unlikable the rest of them are.

Yeah, a 1.5 mile track is not a great way to end the season. Maybe with previous cars, but not the Gen6.

I had really high hopes for the racing this season, after the positive races with the low downforce package last season. What happened? Is it that the teams have clawed back a lot of downforce during the season, and so the racing isn't too different from 2015 levels? Is it that a ton of downforce still needs to come off? Do the cars need to be raised a few mm off the ground, and no side skirts? Or is the Gen 6 always going to be a car that needs clean air and leaves the rest of the field with aero push?

I was watching the 1992 Hooters 500 over the weekend, and the cars were following each other nose to tail with no problems. It was still possible to get loose if you were pinched under another car, but generally the racing was a lot better. It's easy to look back with rose tinted glasses, but I'm sure the racing started to get worse with the COT and not a lot better with the Gen 6. Fingers crossed that next year's package will help some more.

I want it to feel like they're at the old Atlanta, but it's not the same.

Yes. They have quite a bit more downforce now than they did early in the season, and just look at how the quality of racing has gone downhill as the season has gone on.


That would sure as shit help, but for some reason, that's one thing NASCAR refuses to do right now. They keep taking away spoiler and splitter, but ignoring the entire rest of the car. These things need to be way up off the ground like 1992.

I always liked this track could almost go for a second race mid season although i hate that they go to some track twice.
if Logano wins the championship ill just be watching plate races next year Seriously fuck that guy. I kinda hope all the contenders wreck in the same crash and heve to settle it at half speed that would be awesome
