I'm really looking forward to Interlagos. This is a track that is always good, even if the race is boring like last year.

Oh wait, we have to go to Mexico first.

Rosberg could win the championship this weekend if he wins & Lewis is 9th or lower.

I wasn't left particularly impressed after last year's weekend. Apart from the enthusiastic crowd the track is bland and the excessive use of DRS gets quickly annoying. Willing to give it a second chance but not expecting it to be above average (5/10).

Mexicans are great! Probably the happiest people on Earth! Unfortunatelly, Tilke destroyed the track, we can enjoy the crowd, but not so much the racing itself! :(

I wouldn't say that it was Tilke who destroyed the track, It was whoever made the decision to make changes to the track to begin with that's at fault. Tilke was given instructions on where changes were needed & given the limited space in places probably did about the best job possible at making the changes to get more runoff while keeping the general flow of the old layout more or less the same.

The new layout may not be as great as the old one was, But to be honest I don't think it's that bad. I even kinda like the stadium section as while it would be better to watch them go through the Peraltada I think the stadium creates a really cool & unique atmosphere.

No one has mentioned weather yet: There's a chance of shower on Sunday. In F1 terms, no rain.

I kinda like the revised track although I'm not a big fan of the stadium section but obviously we have to live with that because of safety reasons  . However I really HATE that kink on the main straight. It just looks strange...

There is no downvote button on the TBK forum, so thought I may as well thank you for this just to click on something and show my disapproval somehow.

I quite like this track.

That elevation graph in the original post is hilarious though, there's less than 3m difference between the highest and lowest point, yet that graph makes it seem like a whole lot more based on its track.

Then if that does happens he will be just like Chase Briscoe from ARCA.Won the Championship before the final race with 6 wins.

My men, Sergio Perez & Daniel Ricciardo, my men <3
Quote:
I think we can definitely make the circuits a bit more challenging for the drivers, not necessarily with walls but making the driver pay for mistakes if you go off, having a gravel trap and losing time, that kind of thing I think is good for the sport because that forces the drivers not to make any mistakes.

Ricciardo also revealed that deterrents and large run-off areas are often chatted about in the driver briefings.

“Yeah we always talk about it in driver briefings. Whether it's bringing some gravel back or these sort of speed bump kerb things are doing the job in some areas. So it's improving, but I think it's more when a driver can just run off wide and come back on track and not really pay a penalty. That's where it's a bit where you're like at least have some penalty to pay,” he continued.

“At the end of the day if you go off wide, you lock a brake or whatever but you've missed the apex, you've made a mistake so you should lose some time for making a mistake.

“I think that's the thing that frustrates me more, it allows too many of us to be less than perfect and it makes us look less good as well if we're always making mistakes and not paying any penalty for it.”

Lucas, just a small observation....do not forget I'll open Brazilian Grand Prix thread right after Mexican GP. So, don't even try! :p

Looking forward to this race though it was extremely boring last year. I'm also excited about Interlagos, I'll be there again this year.

Bernie has now said the same thing. He wants to build walls next to the racing line.

Next week he'll say that run-off should be longer and gravel should be banned all over the world.

Gravel on the racing line! No! All of the circuit in a tunnel! Wait! Bonus off-road pit lane!
