Got my tickets, heading to Austin on Wednesday and getting back to SC on Tuesday.

Should be a good weekend, Dega is going to be epic probably since I'm not watching.

They'll overlap yes, GP starts at 8pm, NASCAR at 7pm, so it'll be interesting to see how sick Bernie is when the TV figures come in since the GP is on NBC and Cup on NBCSN (not that Bernie cares). Either way the GP will be over and done before NASCAR has warmed up.

Vettel looks a tiny bit like Michael Stipe in Man on the Moon with the cowboy hat. If you need me, I'll be in the 90s.

That race right there is where Lewis earned a lot of my admiration and respect. His onboards in the esses while chasing Vettel were just huge.

but that doesn't mean that the nascar audience will switch to the GP

A driver who hit out at various journalists a week or so ago, in a press conference where he is obliged* to answer their questions? Many print journos have a mean sense of humour, and the thursday presser is the traditional source of awkward questions anyway.

* Unlike the Mercedes spot he walked out of, drivers are required to attend FIA media engagements and can be fined for not playing along.

It will be 30C and sunny on race day. No rain during the weekend is forecast.

I'll probably watch the race just to see if Rosberg can keep it up...

Well if nothing else, the weather should make life a tiny bit harder for Mercedes and their tyres.

Also seeing a few articles this week about Mercedes and its clutch issues, which really seem to boil down to it not being very user-friendly rather than having a genuine technical problem.
