I'm massively torn between "Someone needs to knock some sense into Max" and "oh boo fucking hoo... Someone actually fights for his spot. Get over it".

Frankly, I think both thoughts are correct and Max needs some sense into him and the rest need to stop whining and accept the fact not everyone lets them by so easy.

I think Verstappen's reaction after the race is worse then his actions, although they were over the limit imho. He is a spoiled kid, i hope he will learn soon that he has what it takes, but only if his mental side gets worked at. Dive bombing in T1 was an obvious move, he was way to eager. He's not yet smart enough to wait a single corner, just like Jos.

I don't get it what the stewards were (not) doing. Not so long ago, every incident was looked at and everything was punished, now it's a complete reverse. Although it's better, the unsafe release was just crazy. They even touched....

About the race. Lewis didn't have to do anything to get to the podium. A year ago, he would have been 2nd easily. And now he has all the engines he would ever need, so Rosberg loses no matter what.

Verstappen is now saying (in almost as many words) that his driving was basically revenge for what he perceives as the Ferraris trying to take him out at the first corner. This is becoming farcical.

Yeah, I think a lot of people haven't picked up on this yet - I certainly hadn't. Even Toto has said the loophole needs closing, albeit only after exploiting it :mrgreen:

As I feel it,Max is protected really good from the stewards, he is the "next wonder","18yo winner" this and that, F1 in the top news.
But the moves he makes - commiting to block when the driver behind already takes the line and is faster is just idiotic and dangerous. Small movement or difference in braking area can cause crashes like Alonso's in Australia. And Max makes big, concrete movements. Senna was harsh but mostly fair. Max had just in the last months more unfair moves then the rest of the grid together in last years. He is refreshing but very dangerous and spoiled as he things that his F3 style driving is right.
F1 drivers are here to be best drivers in the world, they have all those steps because they need experience and learn how to be fair to the sport and to the rivals.
He just skipped it ,and jumped into a F1 car, thinking that his F3 behaviour and driving standard will be accepted. His speed is not a question ,but fairness and behaviour is far from F1 standard.

These are his comments and if he is saying this out loud then he seriously needs a talking to or time out. That is seriously the kind of thinking that gets someone killed.

I agree with you all about Max, but fuck it if Charlie finds it ok...
No messages "car number 33 under investigation..."
Then it really needs to happen a Alonso/Guttierez crash so that someone realises this is not right how the front driver is moving or making his moves too late..

First time that I got really angry watching Formula 1, in 16 years.
I have no words for the behavior of this kid.
We need someone to sort him out, his boss and the stewards should start with that.
I don't know how someone didn't punch him in the face yet.

Give him a race ban and let Sainz show his capabilities.
But no, he is the 18-year old wonder kid, no-one is going to penalize him for anything.
Even if he killed someone, he would still be blaming the dead guy.

Going back to Magnussen's crash, they should probably put more than just two rows of tyres on that wall. The track layout makes it so that it's somehow facing the track, and someone can end there at an even higher speed if they leave the track for other reasons than losing it at Eau Rouge (contact or mechanical).

Thanks! Honestly I'm surprised this hasn't happened more often, especially with the tunnel-less diffuser design used in the late 80s and early 90s.

I suppose Hill vs. Schumacher at Monza in #95 could have been like this had it happened a year earlier.

I don't even get the "revenge" part Max is talking about regarding the Ferraris. Vettel wasn't aware Kimi had Verstappen alongside and Kimi also did nothing wrong as he was giving Verstappen adequate room.

Problem is once you black flag him for his dangerous chops, you open up a pandora's box of judgement calls in the future. It's not as cut and dry as judging when someone makes 2 blocks in one straight for example.

So Max will only learn the hard way one time.

Some day, Max will need some room desperately, and he will get none because he's losing respect from his peers. It won't happen at 330kph, but it will happen and nobody will take his defense then.
