Jay Frye saying that IndyCar & TMS will give their best shot to get the track dried to restart the race tonight, as the race isn't official yet

also said that Newgarden is in good shape, and is getting his hand/shoulder checked out along with a 2nd evaluation

Oh the great irony of willing rain to appear over F1 races and willing it to vanish over Indycar

And yet the opposite thing to our wishes happens every time

It proves there's either no god, or he's mischievous

TV coverage has gone off the air, more rain on the way.

They only got until tomorrow to get it in through the current time period, as there is testing at Road America on Wednesday, and a Firestone tire test at Watkins Glen next Monday/Tues. Not counting several going to LeMans as well

But the race should take priority over a track test, that can be rescheduled more easily...

Yes it should, however if this does get postponed I think it could be for a decent bit :/

Road A is just a team test, so might not be a major issue

Watkins Glen is a tire test for Firestone, and the track is booked to the brim (getting the race scheduled was a amazing feat in itself)

One of the commentators made a good point about the Newgarden/Daly wreck. Bad as it was, can you imagine the hit Daly would have taken had Newgarden not been there?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever actually TRIED running rain tires on an oval? Maybe not the ones they have now, but surely technology has come far enough to at least try to develop a rain tire for ovals.

That's the same weekend as Spa. I predict that Spa will be a dry 0/10 race and Texas will be a washout again

Sensible thing to do, imo. We've seen this happen in the past (sort of) at Nazareth. The fairest thing for fans, and the championship battle.
