That was almost a great save, or a huge pile up.

Didn't watch or listen, but there seems to be some speculation on the interwebs that the TV crew really sold us on the fuel drama that may or may not have actually existed. Did anyone run out other than the 1 and 13?

As much as I'd like to throw Fox under the bus, I really think the fuel drama was legit. The crews were telling drivers to save and you could tell the drivers were making significant efforts to do so. Kurt's crew actually told him he was 2 laps short before the restart and you could hear him putting the clutch in entering turn 1 for the last several laps.

Since the vast majority made it to the flag I can see how it might seem like the TV guys oversold it. But I think this was the odd case in which basically every driver/team pulled it off.

Brad was flying when he got up to Dale and I guess they had just saved enough to make it. Kurt's crew chief told him two laps short but you could hear it on the broadcast, his engine wasn't even running when he dove off into turn 1 every time. They were all saving like crazy for as long as possible.

Pocono is often tantalizingly close to a good race, yet consistently disappoints spectacularly in the end. It's like edging but getting crushed by an anvil before you achieve release.

No surprise to see Kurt win, it's probably his best track.

I was hoping Chase could win. Jr was driving great too near the end. Did you see how on the edge he got trying to race outside Kurt in Turn 3?

Lot of action for a Pocono race. No need for fake cautions these days as drivers lose it on their own and cause realistic cautions again.
