If this is their 2016 challenger, it has an odd air intake configuration.

The air intakes look similar to that on the 2015 car, but you couldn't see them that clearly because of the black livery.

That is true - Monaco is indeed terrible.

Not being on Ch4 doesn't worry me though, I'll be in a hotel room in Indianapolis watching it on NBC :)

And when the real thing is released, there won't be any PDVSA stickers on it either.

-----------------

The only two shitters on the C4 list are Spain and Monza (Abu Dhabi is the finale, so it was getting in regardless), which I hope were part of their last picks. I assume that Sky chose Montreal and Interlagos among their first picks otherwise C4 would have them.

On the refuelling front, Damon Hill points out right at the very end of this article that they might be thinking about upping the amount of fuel flow to the engine (more power) and the only way to do that would be to reintroduce refuelling. Something I hadn't considered, but knowing the FIA they would probably just still keep the same flow limit.

Its interesting how the recent debate about refueling is mirroring what happened back when it was last introduced in that its been pushed by Bernie & Ferrari with the other teams seemingly all against.

In 1993 when it was initially been discussed for 1994 Bernie wanted it to 'spice things up' & the only team in support was Ferrari because the V12 engines they ran at the time used more fuel which required they run a larger fuel tank than the V10/V8 powered teams.

From memory Bernie attached the rule reintroducing refueling to the regulations banning driver aids & they were all voted through at the same time with no consultation from the teams who then pushed several times over the next few years to get it banned for many of the same reasons we hear from them today.

refuel should go back only if they raise the total race distance to 400km or more (and 100 laps at Monaco) and not counting fuel flow and no limited engines, so they could go full throttle and faster

The FIA & Manufacturer's have seemingly agreed on an €12m per-year cost cap on the engines with manufacturer's agreeing to supply all customers with identical hardware. As a result of the manufacturer's agreeing to this the FIA have agreed to keep the current engine formula until at least 2020.

With that agreement reached it seems like the independent engine that Bernie & Todt were pushing is now dead.

In order to further reduce cost's drivers will now be limited to 3 gearboxes over a season.

Sky are reporting that refueling will not be returning.

Also Vettel has been testing the 2014 car at Fiorano today.

It seems there was some modifications made to the rear bodywork which I didn't think was allowed?

Those regulation changes are reasonable. Now open up the fuel flow limitation and increase the fuel capacity a little and there might be more engine noise for the fans. That's the only thing that's not taken in account here. We don't want refueling so it's all good.
