NASCAR Season Finale @ Homestead

Seems like almost every major championship this year has been crappy and ended in somewhat crappy circumstances. From what I've seen the only championships that have been given positive commentary are BTCC and WSBK.

Nascar was lucky last year with Harvick as champ... This season the whole Stupid Chase collapsed.

on a serious note though, this playoff format is a joke but NASCAR could have done 1 thing to make it more decent (award a regular season champion from Daytona I to Darlington, then have Richmond II-Homestead for Chase stuff)

Congratulations to Kyle Busch, not every season you see a driver breaking the legs and winning the championship. Wanted Jeff Gordon to win.....but he was too damn conservative in the last yellow, he should have tried something different...but who am I to say.

Only really f1 has been controversy free but that's what you get In a boring dominant season.

There are a hell of a lot of asterisks needed for 2015, particularly indycar and nascar.

My hopes were 24, then if not him 78, then 18, then 4. So while I am disappointed 24 didn't win, I'm happy the 4 did not. Congrats Kyle on your championship run. If he would have won just one race and limp dicked his way into the chase then yeah, that sucks. He didn't. He won 4 races to secure it, then won the finale when he needed it most. So far NASCAR has been lucky that the champion has won the last race since the eliminator format.

I dont like Kyle at all however its not that he doesn't deserve to be a champion.
The guy has talent and can drive, and i must admit his comeback and strong run was champion worthy but the chase makes his achievement as confirmd champion totally unworthy.

I think I spent about maybe 8-10 hours total this year watching NASCAR races/highlights. I would just check to see who won, if anything notable happened, and then moved onto something else. Sad to see Jeff Gordon didn't pull it off, but even if he had, I probably would have still felt hollow about it, due to the championship format. Congrats to finishing up a very successful driving career, Jeff.

Another Chase goes by with the regular season champion not winning. Only once has the point leader after the 26th race won the Chase - Tony Stewart, 2005.

Shows the importance of the first 26 races.
