Oh my... yep, I was wrong. But at least there's more talk about the good old Adelaide GP now.

This altitude talk reminds me of the sand scare before heading to Bahrain in 2004. Sand was supposed to clog the air filters, fuck up the engines, lead to retirements and stuff.

What ended up happening? Literally: nothing.

Perhaps we won't see a difference, but I'm sure engineers will have to keep it in mind, especially Honda lol.

funny that Mansell won some races there despite having some trouble with lack of air

I guess he just looked like a mexican and felt in home to win :p

Genuinely excited for this event.

The atmosphere inside the two stadium sections is going to be immense...the place will go off if Perez passes anyone.

Don't forget that there was also a concern of possible terrorist attack!

Looks like the weather is impossible to predict. The risk of showers has decreased all the time. So it may rain outside the track while at the track the sun is shining. Only Fabs knows what's gonna happen.
Anyway, looking forward to FPs.

The start finish "straight" from T1 camera.

I blame the hurrican Patricia for bending the straight. Other than that, I see a nice 90's touch here. Let's hope the whole track has the same scenery.

I wish I hadn't raced this track so many times with GPL. I will try to minimise my criticism. It kinda hurts although i have no relation to it whatsoever. Things change, but change don't mean rape. But hey, safety trumps everything or whatever. I will never fail to see how changing the track itself will cause safety. Sure, extending 'gravel' traps and putting spectator areas back, sure, but changing a track? nah.

End of the year, kinda looking forward to next year already. Rosberg really needs to become a killer. Maybe he should go to have a talk with Montoya or whatever. Hard to fathem he doesn't know this.

Where did that little narrow section/kink come from, Used to be wide/dead straight all the way down?

Seems like a really odd change to make & none of the screenshots, Simulation laps or video's i've seen to date have had it there, Unless i've completely missed something.

50 place grid penalty for Alonso BTW

Not sure Stefmester, but I can't recognize anything. Last time I saw a race there was A1GP in 2007 I think. The track seems to be a complete new one.

If you want, I can post a video of a lap tonight. ;)

Thanks for the screens Toto! Very unusual to see the podium outside the start/finish straight!

They tightened up the last corner a bit to give it some runoff, then halfway down it moved back over to the old one.

Of course not. They were testing the race graphics and the SC light board... They did the same earlier with the practice graphic timing + red flag light. ;)

The Safety Car did 10 laps or so

Well, I think we can expect the Mercedes happy family mask to be left firmly behind, judging by their drivers' opinions:

Nico Rosberg wrote:
The first corner is pretty clear. I'm ahead mid-corner, and I have a right to the piece of track and he's driving me off the road and banging into me. There was contact, it seemed quite heavy contact on the steering wheel because we banged wheels, so that's not on. That's one big step too far, which is not good.

It needs to be discussed, and I'm not sure [what will happen] going forward.

Toto feels he needs to perhaps sit with Nico to see where his head is at, we don't want tension in the team. Generally we come together, we keep it transparent. I did not have anything to say about it. Of course, I'm sure we will sit down and see what Nico is feeling and any emotions he has and try and dilute them and then move on.

That's interesting language from Hamilton. He clearly feels he is the de facto team leader now.

Gotta say, they have managed to keep the character of the track intact. The esses are different, but they are still a unique sequence of corners.

If you are brought in for hundred millions or so, nobody wants to see you loose.

Silly comparison, but in any serious online racing, Lewis would be penalised long ago. Shoving your opponent off track lacks sportmanship and is just too easy.

Right now, i'd like to be Rosbergs' psychologist....
