Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I think Plato & Turkington are on 2/3 year deals, aren't they? Smith can take Daddy's money to another team, leaving space for Ashley Sutton.

TOCA need to fix the race 2 grid procedure. Either split qualifying into two parts and have the fastest time in each set the grid for races 1 & 2, or have a driver's second fastest time determine their race 2 position. Effectively using race 1 as a qualifying session this year didn't work and was detrimental to the racing.

I wouldn't mind if they introduced some sort of FIA Superlicence points system. Some of the hacks at the back ruin races by their inability to stay on the track. You could get rid of Belcher, Lines, Martin, Hamilton and the hilariously mis-named PRO Motorsport and no quality or value would be lost. Since I mentioned Martin, his Dad can piss off from the Porsches as well. He's as dangerously unaware of his surroundings as Andy Neate.

The races could do with being longer as well. IMO, professional level races should take at least 30 minutes to complete.

Jordan is 99% likely to leave 888 as he is looking about. Motorbase or Eurotech is the destinations. We are looking like we may see some new cars on the grid as well, so keep an eye out on that. It's possible 2 other manufacturers may appear on the grid in some form.

So by my quick glance only 2 meetings don't clash this year.

I honestly think this is an itv/gow plan now to harm bbcf1s viewing figures

Stupid. I just want to be able to follow both series without clashes. This used to be the way it was but for some reason they're deliberately clashing mow.

THIS. MUST. STOP.

Motorbase have a list of 7 drivers for 2016. They also have sponsors so they might be going for a better driver than James Cole. Matt Jackson may not be back however.

It's great that figures within the series are looking for ways to do something additional for the entrants and fans. Would love to see either the heats format and / or an endurance event. Would prefer the endurance with guest drivers.

I think it's a great idea too, but I am a tad worried that with budgets tights as it is, it would need to be done in a way where it dosen't cost an arm and a leg to do it. I would prefer 2 heats followed by a two driver 2 hour endurance or something, with each driver doing 1 heat before joining forces for the endurance. It also can't be just be 10 cars. Could maybe get some guest entries.

And it looks like a decision is imminent then, unless as the article states, the situation is now closed.

I wonder if teams realise that publicly enforcing team orders never makes anyone look good. Sure it may be considered smart strategy, but once it doesn't work out IMO the worst thing to do is publicly whinge about how your teammate not pulling over for you robbed you of the championship, or even release a press release saying as much.

The only reason these teams and this series have the money to go racing at this scale is because of fan interest, and no fan is interested in seeing one driver pull over for another. Refusing to just give up a position you have earned should be seen as a desirable characteristic in a racing driver, not something to apologise for. I've come to accept that this will probably never change in FIA run sports like F1, but BTCC is now arguably the best racing on the planet and people aren't tuning in to it to watch teammates politely let eachother past. For all its critics, NASCAR deserves respect for this never really being an issue.

god damn. taking advantage of any chance, no matter how meaningless, to say something positive about nascar. that's commitment.
