Nevertheless I hate SC, it's taking too long. With VSC they would be racing already.

What was the point of the virtual safety car and why was it introduced anyway? I vaguely remember it being invented following Bianchi's crash, but that wasn't even a safety car issue so not sure what the virtual safety car would have done to improve that situation.
