Seems like every time they mention rain tires for Cup it never rains.

Nascar does this every year. They talk about potentially running a points-paying Cup race in the rain, but come race day, they backpedal faster than a dyslexic Lance Armstrong. I'll believe it when I see it.

For once, I agree with you. The apocalypse draws nigh.

I'd rather not see them in the rain. I mean, if it does rain I would like them to race but I'd prefer a dry race to a wet race.

Suarez just crashed in Xfinity practice, was a pretty hard hit. He caught some air too after hitting the tire wall

Yeah, this is a much bigger thing in Formula 1, where in the dry, the car performance dictates the pace way more than the driver and there's a LOT more grip than horsepower. Then when it rains, its almost the opposite, there's a TON more horsepower than grip and suddenly they're all sliding everywhere, car looking like wrecking out of every corner and the greatest car controlling drivers shine. Good guys with bad cars suddenly becomes superman, underdogs who never get a top 10 are running in top 5 and big egos are smashed to pieces with shameful mistakes.

In Nascar, there's already more horsepower than grip, so people are naturally trained to have good brake and throttle control. It just makes the fast drivers faster, most of the time. But I'll bet we would see people who normally runs nice and smooth making more mistakes and guys who normally makes mistakes doing even worse things, and some probably some very surprising good runs. It just shifts who's is better and who makes some memorable performances somewhat. I'm still curious to see this. The problem could be the restarts, with that crazy turn 1, the esses and the inner loop.....

I want to see them run in the rain for the sheer dipshittery of it. Nascar and dipshittery go together like the NFL and domestic abuse.

Xfinity race is gonna be the 12 and 22 show the whole race...def wont subject myself to that bummer trip...holding out for a surprise winner on Sunday. Allmendinger, Mears and Hornish seem to have decent cars this weekend.

The thought of Mears or Hornish in this chase makes me feel queasy. :yuk:

According to someone at the track...Bayne (on a cooldown lap) blocked Almirola on a hotlap.
