ELDORA (Cup/NXS @ IMS, ARCA @ IRP)

IMS: Only 2 races this year on Brickyard weekend as the TUSCC/CTSCC race was cut off the schedule for this year. New aero packages also running this weekend in both Sprint Cup Series & Xfinity Series races.

IRP: ARCA returns to IRP on Friday night for the 3rd time in 4 years for some short track racing, the ARCA/CRA Super Series will also have a race on Friday night. And finally the USAC Silver Crown Series is also back at the famed short track on Thursday night for the Rich Vogler Classic

other local tracks: Langley has their annual Hampton Heat race for Late Model Stock Cars (will be on FansChoice). Indianapolis Speedrome has the Tony Stewart Midget Classic on Saturday night. Monadnock will have the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, which will be taped and will be televised on NBCSN. Canadian Tire is at St-Eustache again.

the race would be 10000000000000% better at IRP than at IMS. But lolnope gotta race at the big tracks with nobody in the grandstands. Wish the Xfinity Series & Trucks were able to run IRP sometime during the year while also having the IMS date.

I'll be at IRP for the ARCA and ARCA / CRA events. May swing by for the USAC event Thursday night. Depends on how tired I am from chasing trains across Indiana up to Indy. (Louisville > Evansville > Terre Haute > Indy was the route I took last year)

So Xfinity is also going to run the high drag package at Indy this weekend.. I hope both races are farces, and it forces them to abandon that idea immediately.

Schrader is racing according to the entry list. There is a decent chunk of dirt experts/regulars in the field though.

I'm willing to give it a chance, just because Indy has never really produced decent races with NASCAR. They're obviously going to get a decent draft on the straights but what will happen when they reach the corners? Everyone will be washing up the track and the leader will fly off into the distance. It's not like Fontana where they can run different lines in the corners. It'll surely be really single file.

Everything logical says it'll be a failure, but there's a small part of me that worries about it somehow being a good race, and NASCAR deciding to go with this package at every single circuit.

And yes, go back to IRP.
