He just needs to meet the catch fence top first and it won't happen again.

I think some of the driving on ovals this year has been a bit sketchy at times.

There are a few drivers who seem far too willing to chop across other drivers, aggressively change lanes without paying attention to whats around them, Squeezing other cars up towards the wall & in general not giving room or showing respect to those around them. They just don't seem to have the same level of respect for one another that you used to see displayed on ovals 15-20 years ago & thats been a trend for a while now & I don't think the more relaxed officiating we tended to see during the IRL days has helped with that as it seems you have to be really blatant to get called on anything now & even then you more often than not you tend to get a dozen warnings before a penalty.

Late in tonight race I feel that Karem was pushing his luck a bit & I fully understand why Carpenter was irritated by some of what he was doing.

Karam does have to use his head more, but Ed can be just as bad at times as well.

And unlike Ed a year ago, Sage really didn't look as though he gave a shit. His driving has been rather sketchy and that's not the kind of attitude a young driver should have.

And that's not unlike other young drivers we've seen before. Right? Cut him some slack, he'll learn. It's not as if some of the senior figures aren't as sketchy throughout this season.

That's the problem though, he's been like it in most of the races he's run this year. He needs a very good talking to. Preferably locked in a room with AJ, he'll knock sense into him.

Kals is right ( ) ed's just a hypocrite.

He's just butt hurt he got beaten, he's proven in situations when he's been in sage's position that he'd do exactly the same thing because "its just racing"

He was also really timid in traffic, scared to make a move when people like RHR, Karam and Rahal would show up in his mirrors and blast by both him and the car he was too scared to make a move on. Think thats why he's pissed off more than anything, realising he's past it now and has more fear than the new young American guns taking over the mantle he could never get because of his contrived shittyness at anything but high downforce flat to the floor no skill racing.

Man's old now. Needs to retire.

Yea, that was some pretty sketchy, aggressive stuff from Sage. I don't blame Ed for having some words with him.

I don't like Ed, but that driving looked very questionable. I would have been annoyed.

Karam was making funny movements all over the track - not ideal at 180 mph

overnight TV rating in the US for this race was a 0.40, up by 30% from last year's race.

Is anybody following Indycar on Facebook or twitter? Is it just me or are they a little bit desperate and amateurish promoting Karam's and Ed's dispute?

Yeah, more like the respect in the early 80s - I have half the car in front, it's my turn, wherever I want top of bottom, get out of the way b#tch.

3 ovals in a row the ratings have been up. Fans clearly like Indycar on ovals, hope they add some more next year and spread them out evenly over the whole schedule. Ideally the schedule would be: road course - oval - street track - oval - road course - oval - street track - ...

Why does everyone like Gateway? I hated that track.

It's unique and different. It's not a regular oval, it's not a trioval. It's Gateway. And that's cool.

Can't remember any of the races at Gateway well. Kenny Bräck led the 5 first laps in 2003, that's it. Did PT and Dario wreck each other there one year?

The first race in 1997 was a wreckfest.

Reason for Gateway is thats its an oval where it challenges the drivers and doesn't allow for pack racing like Michigan would.

Ehm, yes. Milwaukee is also an oval which challenges the drivers. So is Iowa and Pocono and Indianapolis, rly.

Well, more unique ovals, the better.
