I just assumed they'd start the race in the evening but then I checked and...1:30 PM local time? Who the HELL thought that was a good :idea:?

Well, it should be interesting at least I guess. I just feel bad for all participants, the teams, and the fans. At least the forecast high is only 94F/34C...

I wonder how badly the heat is gonna effect the tires and the engines. Gonna be absolutely burning hot, and the race is at the worst part of the day for heat.

The Autosport article on the opening session (lead by Briscoe!) said the high temps are really exacerbating the tire wear. Huge dropoff in laptimes early in the run.
