I think this thread has already exhausted most of the Road America races, but no problem in revisiting them!

Next up for the stars and cars of the Verizon Indycar Series is the fast and difficult Pocono International Raceway. In honor of this here we have some previous Pocono action in the 1989 flavor.

What year was it that John Andretti sawed his car in half against the pit wall?

^ That would be 1988. There is no footage that I know about of the crash itself though there are some still photographs floating around.

Yeah, I found the NBC broadcast of that race on Youtube yesterday. The announcers talk about it and a still shot of the car upside down in the pit lane is shown, but no video of the actual crash.

Road America has certainly had its fair share of big crashes over the years - Foyt, Tracy, Shaldack, Andretti, Gidley, Moore etc.

Anyone have a screenshot/picture of this handy by chance?

yeah those were some of the best years of CART. It's also when I first started watching. I remember watching Stefan Johansson practicing at Cleveland on ESPN in 1996. :excited:

And Moore's two wins at Milwaukee and Detroit were phenomenal, as was Mark Blundell's at Portland.

*sigh* :(

And all the brazillians, while there was nothing in F1, there was plenty here.

Justin's last win, and his only career oval win in a AOWR series.

IndyCar uploaded the raw feed of the 2004 IRL Phoenix race. I think this is the first time the full race has been uploaded as ABC missed the start (they joined on at lap 13)
