Was there something wrong with Button's car or is it Mclaren just that much crap?

I switched to F1 for a few moments and once saw Maldonado, with a broken wing support, overtake Button quite easily.

ffs, Mclaren/Honda just can't be that bad or can it?

Jenson complained about a complete lack of rear end up until his first stop. Apparently it got better after some new tyres and settings changes, but not much. Alonso was quite some way up the road at the point of his retirement.

I've never been this disillusioned about F1. Even 2002, 2004 had more enjoyable action than this season.

The season after the one with a major rule change always seems to disappoint.

Hmm, a bit maybe. 2009 was nanners in some aspects, but 2010 had that title fight (though anticlimatic due to the poor venue). I don't have fond memories from 2006 and 2007 either, but at least those title races were open.

Well, at least there's some constancy in the series.
Back in 2004:

What a boring race. No wonder I feel like I am the only one that watch the races. At my work I am the last surviver of watching the races. Where is the time of the great battles for the championship between Hakkinen en Schumacher? Or Villeneuve? Last year was ok, but not enough to make the 'occasionally watcher' interested in this sport, and it is getting worse and worse, I almost dare not saying I watch these races, or I will be declared 'nuts'

I don't remember 2010 being very good at all from a racing perspective. The title fight was close but I don't remember a ton of good racing.

Alonso's brake failure came as a result of a visor tearoff obstructing the rear brake duct and causing overheating.

Well that's about as random as Kimi's tyre blanket issue on Saturday.

Maybe some sort of almighty god is trying to intervene to spice up the racing. He will have to do better though. Tsunami in Monaco?
