Just remember when you're watching an Xfinity snoozefest race at Texas, Chicago, Vegas, Kentucky and the rest, tracks like Hickory used to host races

Why would you even watch a Xfinity race?

Outside of the road courses, I don't know.

my only reasons at this point (as a fan) is to see where a couple of former competitors & teammates are running.

Besides that, my interest as a fan in NASCAR's top 3 series continues to drop.

Good find. That was a good battle for the '88 Southern 500 between Bill and Rusty. Never knew Rusty was that close to winning at Darlington, a track he never did win at.

Nice channel. One of those videos is the 1991 Winston Legends Race which I have always heard was quite something.

Car & Track broadcast (SPEED re-air) of the 1974 NASCAR Modified race at the Daytona Road Course. Several big names in the field including Bobby Allison, Tiny Lund, Richie Evans, Maynard Troyer & Paul Newman.

Footage of the 1967 USAC Stock Car race at the IRP road course (that pit road is insane :8: )

There's some more footage of the USAC stockers at IRP here, this time from 1965 (complete with Petty, Pearson, Isaac and Goldsmith, plus a glimpse of Dick Passwater  in a Studebaker). Interestingly, they're heading in the opposite direction to the 1967 footage:

And some footage of from the stock car division at the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in 1966 (is that still a thing?)

It's all pavement though after complaints from environmentalists.

I meant the stock car division, not the event itself lol. I am aware that it still exists (and that it got paved over)

Sometime during this decade. If I remember correctly, the Sierra Club sued, contending that runoff from vehicles was able to get into the water easier, or something to that effect.

My bad. :slaphead:

No designated class for stock cars currently.

2012 was the last year of the "Super Stock Car" class according to the PPIHC website. I would assume current & historic circle-track style cars would be legal for one of the various open classes still though.

This is an interesting one, Richard Petty and Bobby Allison in Chevy late models in a Canadian series race at Mosport in 1974 (Benny Parsons took part later in the year as well):

Remember when Richmond was in late February/early March?
