Never noticed the #00 Western Auto car in the movie before

found this video footage of a fantastic finish to the 1993 NASCAR Winston Modified Tour race at Richmond. Thought I would post it here after someone shared it in a WMT fans group on Facebook. Also this has to be the first ever video footage I have ever seen of a Mod race at Richmond. I saw some photos of when they ran in the late 90's but nothing else.

(sorry for it not being Winston Cup/Busch but it should fit IMO)

Looks like it was on TBS too. Very nice find!

And it's a classic NASCAR thread so anything NASCAR is welcome!

For some reason, the most intriguing part of this telecast is the starting lineup set to an instrumental of Caribbean Queen. Good tast, CBS

Some old World 600's to keep you awake when this year's race starts putting you to sleep.

1982, '87 and '88 600's are good ones.

Mid to late 80s World 600s are generally good races.

With all of the top 3 series being at Dover this weekend, thought I would post this.

I had a blast some time ago watching the first concrete race at this track. Really enjoyed the lack of commercials and the great broadcast of all that was happening on the track.

My 1st time going to Dover, my favorite driver (Rusty) won when Mark Martin cut a tire and nailed the wall with under 10 to go.... Also Dover's last asphalt race.

The last 500-miler at Dover had one of the most batshit late stages I had ever seen to that point.

Thanks Wayne. I remember that '97 race now that I've seen it again for the first time since it happened. That was a wild one!

As the Cup guys run at Pocono this coming weekend, here's the June race from 1995.

June '98 race. Jeremy Mayfield (in more innocent times) gets his first win. DW nearly steals the show, posting what would be his final top-10 in an emotional performance. Check out the post-race interview.

Going back to a time where Pocono still had a short track, and the NASCAR Tour ran in the Race of Champions Modified event as a points event (which were together until the early 90's when they split after the event going to Flemington Speedway)

Speaking of the Race of Champions event, they also ran at Pocono's full 2.5 mile oval in the early 80's as well as Trenton and Langhorne in the 60's & 70's.

How could you forget this beauty from 2000?

Check it out. Rusty spins around the 2:35:00 mark, near the front of the pack and there's no yellow.

I remember it like it was yesterday - some folks (even a few with Rusty Wallace shirts) started leaving early. Mayfield had dominated the day, so they figured "hey, I'mma let Jeremy win this thing and head out to try and beat the traffic".

That's kinda dumb to do when your driver is running second.

Also, the '99 race is the only one I was ever cold at. And I'm Canadian, sooooooo, to you guys, that's toque and mittens cold. ;)
