I don't think we've seen that pileup at about 15 minutes in the 78 race? That was pretty brutal, Grant Adcox probably would have been killed if it was a right hand drive car.

I don't know, but I'm fairly certain that was the nitrous oxide accident.

When the door was sheared free of DK Ulrich's car in that wreck, it exposed a bottle of nitrous oxide in DK's car. He was suspended for the rest of the year.

33 years ago, the world of racing lost one of the greatest racers to ever compete. nascarman posted highlights from one of the Thompson races during the 1985 season, which was one of RE's final wins on the Tour.
