Sounds about right. At this point you'd actually drive into the wall deliberately.

And driving deliberately to a wall is something that Alonso knows a lot.

Hamilton 6 tenths faster than Rosberg. Take that.

FYI, probably already mentioned but German RTL confirmed that Peter Sauber is on his way to Melbourne. They didn't tell much about the whole Sauber thing, like it isn't even happening....

A bit sad with 18 runners. Almost feels like Motogp of a few years back....

He's been in Melbourne all day, I've seen him on the pits channel in the Sauber garage a few times in FP3 & quali.

Mann its better for Alonso to not return at all this year.
The car is a disaster. Last year Mclaren were in midfield and now they have a clear pole position at the back..
Im sure Alonso doesnt want to spend another year fightning for P10.
Maybe its better for him to race with Webber in WEC

not sure what to make of McLaren. On the one hand, the car seems to handle just fine. On the other, it is just dead slow.

Really a pity to see McLaren where they are, going to be a very frustrating year but it does sound like they are realistic with their expectations and Dennis was ever the diplomat in his interview. Good to see Ferrari and Williams close, probably going to be the main point of excitement tomorrow. Hope Renault get this mapping sorted, at least that's a better issue to have than mechanical shortfalls.

The gaps between the different teams are rather big. I expect a parade tomorrow.

Bottas has hurt his back. That's damned luck. Hopefully this won't affect his whole season, we know already from Kimi's experience how invaliding back problems can be.

Hamilton is 1.4 seconds faster than 3rd placed Massa.

The only question tomorrow will be on what lap the first Mercedes will have lapped the first non Mercedes. Dominance 1998 style.

Already seeing a lot of rumors that Bottas is out for tomorrow. He's at the hospital now being checked out. If he can't race, the team can't put another driver in the car can they?

I dont understand why did they come to Melbourne if they dont have the needed money??
And when theyll get the money then theyll always be outside of 107% QLF rule..

Because by turning up I don't think it counts as one of their 3 permitted missed races.
