Kurt Busch is going the way of Chris Benoit as his memorabilia is wiped clean from the NASCAR.com Superstore.

I wish Kyle Busch the best. It always sucks when a driver gets hurt regardless of who it is.

That being said, I really hope trying to get his 7000th lower division win was worth it.

I wonder how long before other potentially dangerous situations on other tracks (blunt end pit wall and exposed scoring pylon at Indy, Armco walls at Pocono's T1 entrance, inside concrete/armco crossover gate at tail end of Dega backstretch) get addressed? It seems the track record has been things get fixed only after something bad happens because of them.

Just great to see so many feeling sorry for Kyle. I hope he humbles up and grow as a person from this.

Compound fracture? Ouch!!!

And he got out of the car in such a hurry, I just hope that didn't make things worse. This kinda injury send chills down my spine. Ouch.

Horrific accident.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy seeing Kyle fail to win anything significant in the main events, and I really don't like him as a driver - I maintain he has a very punchable face most of the time - but that's a nasty nasty way to end your season before it's properly begun.

As much as I'd like to see him bugger off from the lower tier series so the scraps for the win are a little closer, I very much doubt this will change his mindset in the future, which is something to be admired.

You get the sense that if they ran seven events over a three day period, Kyle would make sure he was entered into every single one of them and would try to run every single lap, because it's racing, and that's what he loves doing.

And you have to respect that, even begrudgingly.

Yea it must be like be like flipping out on PCP or something, that adrenaline will make you not even realize you're in pain. Tony tried to walk out of his sprint car after his DOUBLE compound fracture. Of all people Kyle is the one to drive away/not get medical help, you could tell he didnt even know what was happening when he was on the ground. His bell was rung no doubt. No HANS device and his head would've been in the same boat as his leg, so very thankful for that. Rowdy WILL be back, knowing him probably this year. Will this change anything about Cup guys in the lower series, probably not, but the sport will be much safer in the future.

Hmm Can we talk about how Kyle was sarcastically clapping while not knowing how everyone was after that huge qualifying crash? I'm a devout believer in Karma and this was a very painful lesson learned.

If I woke up at the track today, this would be exactly how I'd picture it. My alarm would be this exact music.

I too believe in karma, but from that? No way. Kyle was mocking Nascar and their ridiculous qualifying procedure, it wasn't an act of malice. Totally an innocent gesture. If one is wanting to argue karma, look at Kyle's record in the past, Grasshopper.

Besides, karma had nothing to do with it, just bad luck.

So, will we get to see the laziest rollover in SPEEDWEEKS history today with the temporary tire wall?

Guess you're right...though no one here can deny Kyle has pulled a few dick moves in the past. Two other drivers were headed for that wall but hit other cars on the way to
It...bad luck indeed.

Soon enough NASCAR will show highlights of the 2004 season without actually mentioning who won the 2004 championship.

That, or they'll say Jimmie won it and call him a 7-time champ.
