Yeah. Not to sound cold but it seemed inevitable. What a weird start to the season we're having. Potentially two winning drivers out indefinitely.

So sad. I hope Kyle recovers quickly. Hopefully this shows that Cup drivers should remain Cup drivers only.

First time since 2000 that a Busch will not run a Daytona 500

Been saying this for years, knew one day it'd bite a Cup driver and prevent him/her from competing on Sunday. Such a waste of talent.

Yea ol Dale gave Kurt the finger in that race. It signified the changing of the guard as Kurt would become the new bad guy in NASCAR and Dale would die.

It's happened before - Bobby Labonte and Ernie Irvan come to mind...

The Busch brothers weekend is movie-like. As of Thursday night they were both going to be in the Daytona 500, now neither will.

Karma's a bitch.

These guys have the resources and the passion to run out of Cup, and you want to take that away from them? It's unfortunate that this happened, but it does. You all should be applauding the fact these guys aren't shills and race any given opportunity. Shame on you

First (possible) leg injury since Dario broke his ankle few years ago? (Those few years ago in my mind are already 7 years past as it as 2008.....)

You know, thinking about it, Daytona should have had that spot on the wall in mind. It's not like nobody's hit it before.

***WARNING, SPOILERED IS A FATAL ACCIDENT***
Spoiler:

Ricky Knotts hit around the exact same area 35 years ago and was killed.

It also goes to show you the improvements that have come in safety since then.

If Juniors literall ass on fire in 04 didn't serve as a wake up call, I don't think anything would.

Race car drivers like to drive race cars - like, honestly I don't even know how to respond to the idea that drivers should only race strictly in one series and I don't know why it's on this board of all places.
