Vettel has always been a bit of a joker. He used to troll Finnish MTV3 broadcasting team in front of the camera but also behind it. Usually he dropped Finnish comments in the interviews, even singing silly songs in Finnish. But the best was behind the cameras that our commentator Oskari Saari told before one race, I think it was China in 2012 or something like that. Vettel came from behind to Saari and his cameraman, slammed his hands on their shoulders and said with perfect Finnish "I'm so tough guy that I eat steel and shit chain."

For those who don't know, this is a famous quote from The Unknown Soldier book by Väinö Linna, a book released in 1954 about Finland's WW2. A Finnish tradition is to watch 1955 movie of the book every Indepence Day. The actor who does this line is one of the main heroes, an officer who's a good and friendly role model to his men who's not much of a talker, but throws this awesome line in the movie.

One should never lost a sense of humour. Good thing Seb still has his and can amuse us while corporate guys are saying what the sponsors wants to hear and nothing else.

It's brilliant.

Lewis tries to join in but isn't as funny. Whereas every exchange with Rosberg is just painfully awkward.

Indeed, that was cringe-worthy material.

I didn't like Vettel back when he was a dominating baby Schumi.

Nowadays, he's a in a Ferrari, with that old-school helmet design, making some heroic drives in an inferior car to steal victories and podiums from the dominating corporate clean silver arrows. It's an F1 fan's wet dream in the making.

like in those days when Berger and Alesi grabbed some sparse victories while Schumacher and Williams monopolized the victories, just missing black wings and golden rims

The reason I became a Schumi fan :(

Whoever's in that Ferrari and battling from the underdog position for the Championship gets my support.

Fuckin' black wings and fuckin' gold rims were the best with darker shade of red and Marlboro logos on car number 27!

Only the 95 Ferrari was better with that low nose.

Vettel is funny. Remember that gala when he imitated Kimi? Haha imagine Lewis doing anything like that. Or Rosberg. Dear lord. They have integrated well with corporate upstairs.....

Well the verstappen effect seems to be back in the Netherlands and its in full swing. They're now talking about bringing F1 back to Zandvoort. But the government has to pitch in. Can't see that happen really.

Besides that, I doubt the track is ready for it. So it will never happen.

Zandvoort has a paddock that's far too small

The track is to narrow and short. Unless they can make an island for a new zandvoort.....plus. That single road out is just horrible. Only one way out.

They can better make a new circuit somewhere around Venlo. I know, shitty place for most Dutch people, but road connections are awesome, guaranteed many German and Belgium fans and 3 good airports within 100.

Zandvoort is only cool because it has history. Other then that, meh.

Btw, that engine news about RB. I think it's an old idea in a new package presented as news. Nobody else is picking it up.

Given F1 current problems, perhaps they should reduce their expectations of existing facilities a little.

In addition, given that Mexico was awarded whatever grade license required to host a Grand Prix with walls so close to the track you could reach out and touch them, and no runoff at the entry to the stadium, I don't think the FIA has any right to complain about safety at Zandvort, consideng in some sections of the track there's far more of it than at Mexico.

It is the FIA we are talking about Ian. They don't have double standards or even triple standards...they have quadruple standards!

I think every year we hold our breath and wait for their new car to have them. One day...

But there already is an awesome GP circuit in Belgium, and sometimes there's a German GP too. We don't need to go to Holland as well, as it will only mean that another European track will disappear. Probably a popular, historic but in difficulties track like Silverstone or Monza.

But Zandvoort had history as well... So at least we'd be trading one traditional track for another instead of trading in a traditional track for a soulless track in the middle of nowhere or in a big city in a corrupt place.

Should be a requirement for their historic payment. Either run black wings, traditional Ferrari Red and gold rims and get historic payment or pay back ALL historic payment and run whatever fugly red they want.

They would probably ruin Zandvoort. So no, keep F1 away from Zandvoort please.
