Yeah, exactly that. Porsche definitely had the idea of letting Hülkenberg try to defend his win, and other drivers have been interested as well. That goes out the window now.

But also, the race will actually be on at the same time now.
"Back in the days" it usually was Canada that clashed, but that race would then run in the evening after the finish of the 24H. Now it's going to directly compete with the final 2 hours, lol.

I was reading something last month which said that Pirelli or whoever the supplier is also completely free to ignore that request & produce tyres that are whatever they want them to be. Michelin for example have already made it clear that they will not produce high degredation tyres & are only going to produce tyres that drivers can push 100% & that have the best performance possible regardless of what Bernie asks them to do.

Frankly hulkenberg should have been banned from the season for running Le Mans and force India docked $20 million of their price money for allowing it. How dare they!
