Well yes. Remember that Nasr was a Williams tester until signing for Sauber. Now it would make more sense if Nasr replaced Massa, with Bottas' replacement being Hulkenberg.

Seriously it could be great

Manor could build a car that's 20 seconds a lap slower but takes 30 minutes less to put together.

Isn't that part of how Le Mans is won and lost? Audi being slightly slower on track but parts take less time to replace which means less time off track / in the pits.

If Kimi retires, there won't be anybody interesting left in F1. Only dull or selfish douchebags.

Haas is looking for an experienced driver but I doubt Kimi would be the right choice. He doesn't seem like the type that can help develop a car and team. He just steps in the car and does his thing.

Awkward situations incoming with Felipe Nasr and Felipe Massa, both Brazilians in the same team with the same name only changing N and M in the pronunciation.
Kimi isnt that bad, he will beat Vettel in the next 2 races and is not too far away from him.
But well, situations like Canada, Austria and Silverstone (if it was his decision to stop) are not acceptable for Ferrari.

21-race calendar rocks, one more to watch! And who gives a nickel about logistics, as long as all the cars are already shipped to the grid when I tune in, I'm fine thanks.

That's given me a great idea for a race series.

F1 race starts at 9am on a Sunday when they're given the shipping container to their car with everything in 200 pieces. They have to assemble the cars then do the 80 laps after that.

Top Gear already did that, with a Caterham

Martin Brundle took to calling Nasr 'Fred' earlier in the year as a way of avoiding confusion.

Nice, France
Saturday 18 July 2015
02.45hrs France │ 01.45hrs UK

It is with deep sadness that the parents of Jules Bianchi, Philippe and Christine, his brother Tom and sister Mélanie, wish to make it known that Jules passed away last night at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) in Nice, (France) where he was admitted following the accident of 5th October 2014 at Suzuka Circuit during the Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix.

“Jules fought right to the very end, as he always did, but today his battle came to an end,” said the Bianchi family. “The pain we feel is immense and indescribable. We wish to thank the medical staff at Nice’s CHU who looked after him with love and dedication. We also thank the staff of the General Medical Center in the Mie Prefecture (Japan) who looked after Jules immediately after the accident, as well as all the other doctors who have been involved with his care over the past months.

"Furthermore, we thank Jules’ colleagues, friends, fans and everyone who has demonstrated their affection for him over these past months, which gave us great strength and helped us deal with such difficult times. Listening to and reading the many messages made us realise just how much Jules had touched the hearts and minds of so many people all over the world.

"We would like to ask that our privacy is respected during this difficult time, while we try to come to terms with the loss of Jules.”

Sorry didn't see it had already been posted here.

Just feel like a hammer blow. I know a lot of people will say it's for the best, but damn man what a terrible end to a promising life.

Memo to those who come next: can we please save the whole inevitable debate about the labelling of his crash fatall or the fia's handling of the accident for at least a week or so.
Let's just remember Jules first before we get into the usual b.s. here please.

RIP JULES.

Will always remember for you for that drive (and THAT PASS ) at monaco and also for many amazing gp2 races too.

You're free now.

This does not get enough recognition. It should be Formula One's "The Move", because of how Rascasse is a mythical corner of the championship, and because nobody (from recent memory) had ever successfully passed for position in the right hander there.

Anybody has a video of that pass? I watched that race on NBC in the US and missed half the race because they had so many commercial breaks. Don't remember seeing that pass.
