I think we should face facts: a modern F1 car will not look good whatever livery is on it.

That "Marlboro" scheme on the new Macca still looks like complete and utter shit.

A livery can be nice and so, but overall, it is all very relative. Compared to a Lotus 79, Ferrari 640 or McLaren M5A, no way in hell.

How many years has it been since F1 switched to the doofy looking narrow rear wing and gigantic front wing? In all that time I still haven't been able to get used to it. These cars just look wrong because the proportions just don't feel balanced to me compared to every other open wheel race car with wings over the decades.

the trend for modern liveries should be a plain color rather that elaborate schemes that were common in the old times.

pick that Marlboro McLaren, it was nice when the cars had less curves and were more basic. I guess stripes are still good for some cars, as Red Bull did in 2009 but is quite a challenge to make a car have that appeal

Exactly this, the front half of the cars just look so long. And that Sauber with the blue? It looks like some really shitty early 90s F3000 paint job....from a two bit backmarker.

I just wonder how much aero will change over the season. Always like to follow this development. Anyone has a photo comparing the cars at the first and last track from last season?

I agree about the wings. I don't understand why the front wing can't be narrower. A wider rear wing might create more dirty air, I guess.

2009 was when they made that change.

That's the reason, the skinny rear wing creates a slim wake, with the super-wide front wings sit outside of the wake, thus creating more downforce.

That's the theory anyway.

I think McLaren was somehow afraid of making cigarette references with a retro "Marlboro" livery.

But If they were smart enough, it's completely possible to make a white/red car without having any lines resembling cigarettes. If they did something different using white and red, everyone would be happy. We just wanted to see something different.

They should have gone for the Marlboro livery, only replacing the red with Papaya Orange.

Ferrari looks good.

Sauber looks horrible, imo

The Ferrari looks atrocious. Terrible nose job, and that livery, ugh, too much black. When is the last time they made a good looking car?

The McLaren looks good but the livery is a massive disappointment. Way to be creative, guys...

The Mercedes looks fantastic and the livery is not that bland with the touch of blue.

They'll change the mirrors to black. That'll be all.

Am I the only one who thinks that the McLaren from 2015 looks like the 2009 one? That nose and those colours look equal to me...

My very first reaction was that it looked like the 2009 Brawn.

In my opinion Mercedes nose could've been better without those camera horns, that makes it weird and a bit ugly
