Nico just said in his interview with Will Buxton that he was only "a tiny bit' slower than Lewis in the races this season. Errmmm what?

While it would be a shame if that was Button's last race, I also think it would be a shame if Magnussen is shown the door after 1 year in which he did show that he's got potential for the future.

If Alonso's is going to McLaren as seems probable its a tough call on which driver to put in the 2nd car.

When measured as part of the gap to the other cars, then yes!

I'm not a Hamilton fan, but I've got to admit that he deserved the title this year. He's had far more bad luck with the car, and yet won more races. I'm sure Nico will have another chance next year, as I still think Mercedes will have the best car.

Meh, stats lie.

1988 - 15 wins out of 16 races, 94% win ratio
2002 - 15 wins out of 17 races, 88% win ratio

2014 - 16 wins out of 19 races, 84% win ratio

Wasn't the F2002 record also with some some races and a win from 2003?

Edit: Yes 4 races from 2003 with 1 win. And first 2 races of 2001 where driven by the F2001 (including 1 win).

Ferrari started 2003 with the 2002 car but don't forget they didn't win until round 4 I'm San Marino and the introduced the F2003 GA at round 5 in Spain.

What would the statistics look like if we would count points for the team, using the old points system for having a better comparision? Because Mercedes didnt just get a lot of wins but also a lot of doubles.

Agreed. That would be an interesting comparison.
