Unfortunately this is what I expected after the most recent Interview with his father.
Any maybe it's "the best" for Jules that his suffering is finally over. Still, this hits hard. Very hard. :(

dont know if it was posted already but in one article i read his great uncle, Lucien Bianchi, was killed practicing at le mans in 1969, after winning the race just the year before.

Indeed he was. He drove in F1 as well and ran his best race at Monaco too.

This really hits me hard. I had the pleasure of meeting Jules back when we were both racing Maranello Karts at the Winter cup in Lonato Italy. He was already at the top of the karting world, and I was competing in my first big time CIK-FIA European kart race. He was so kind and helpful towards me, despite the language barrier. I was so happy for him when he landed his F1 ride, and I knew he had the potential to become a future world champion. Rest in paradise Jules

T3 at Zolder is named after him as well (Lucien was raised in Belgium).

I'm really shocked and devastated when i saw the news 2 nights ago. He show us so many wonderful things in driving, but also off the track. He still a true champion in our hearts. RIP Jules.

Because I don't follow F1, and it's news, anymore, I only found out about this now. Very sad to find out but, to be honest, I had no hope of he ever recovering. I know it's devastating to say this, specially because I'm a big fan of the driver, but it's the same with Schumi. I feel like their lives were "gone" once their accidents happened. We were/are just technically waiting for it to be declared.

The guy was so young, had quite some potential and seemed to be such a nice fellow that it all makes this completely heartbreaking

There is always a way to "bypass" this law.

My aunt died in 2002, at the age of 37 years old, cancer. She was suffering a lot, and doctors "forgot" to put a security in the morphin pump, allowing my aunt to use it as much as wanted...

Jules seemed like one of the few drivers who is actually friendly and genuine.

Have fun racing wherever you are Jules. :flag:

HIs teammate Chilton went out and won pole and the Indy Lights race at Iowa. That was his tribute to Jules. It was also touching that Chilton asked for silence before the IndyCar race.

good move, but I am sure that no one would take it out of respect for Jules anyway.
