Here's some serious ARCA braking from Dale Jarrett culminating in a big flip in the original Sportsman Series in 1980:

Haven't seen that crash in a while. Was Glover injured? That was a hell of a hit and I'm surprised it didnt ignite the gas tank.

As far as I can tell from the archived thread of Wildturnip's original post of that, Glover wasn't hurt.

They also had a different qualifying procedure for the Busch series (Fall race) for a long time. Anyone remember seeing the big wrecks from the "Hooligan Race" every year during the main race broadcasts? lol

I think it was Dale Jarrett who got injured in that wreck. Broke his ankle I believe.

Crazy race. Geoff Bodine wrecked the pace car in the final laps of that one.

Harvick wins practice with an over the track record 196+ speed. Under the lights tonight should be even faster!

Kyle Busch on pole. Should be an interesting race. Curious if they break 200mph on a 1.5 mile track at Texas before next years tapered spacers.

That's freakin hilarious.

No wait it's not, I had him picked as my C list starter in fantasy. Stupid overhyped Daytona 500 winner.

You could still put your other C-list driver in his place (good thing I had Austin Dillon on my bench).

The reason that Texas is "faster" is because its less than 1.5 miles long but its reported as 1.5.

The corner transitions at Texas are longer and more sweeping than Charlotte.

Also Texas is no longer faster, Charlotte is the fastest 1.5 mile quad oval on the circuit.

Didn't they also qualify during the day at Texas? I'm sure if they did it at night, Texas would top Charlotte.
