I think he went fully under the digger, seeing the damage to the underside and rear wheel of the digger, it's the only way the nose right back to the end of the car could be so damaged: http://www.imageupload.co.uk/images/201 ... 528624.png

One more picture I hadn't seen yet: http://www.imageupload.co.uk/images/201 ... 943087.jpg

I found these posted to the Codemasters forum.

That's a strange one. I'd swear he has his visor up and a hand in the slot, almost as if he's rubbing his nose or something. That red bit is too far forward to be the left-hand cockpit padding; it really looks like a glove.

// Edit: I zoomed in and am now pretty sure it's an optical illusion.

Does look that way doesn't it? easy way to find out, locate a photo of his gloves, he was cleaning his visor in the pitlane before the race iirc.

From practice but I'd assume he'd wear the same gloves. Right colour.

Could be debris though, if you look as the front wheel there's what looks like part of the headrest foam padding.

theres aftermath footage a few pages back.
the crash is caught on official TV cameras im pretty sure of that , chance of it being released probably depends on how Bianchi's outcome is.
But according to sutil it was a simple spin followed by the unfortunate collision with the tow-truck.

Not really. Mcnish had one of the biggest crashes in f1 history right there and only a couple of photos of that showed up too

plus nowdays even a 100$ camera has a 10x zoom and at least 720p video mode and you usually don't go to a race without a camera. I can only assume few were filming cause it was raining hard or that the standings were very far from that point

The McNish crash was at 130R?

Where Sutil crashed off, I thought there was a full grandstand on the opposite side of the track

You can do a lot of things spontaneously when unconscious though, I apparently unbuckled my belts and turned the ignition off in similar circumstances, so it wouldn't surprise me if he did move his hand up to his head, it's a natural reaction.

I guess there were security checks when people got out of the circuit and footage may have been deleted from the cameras.

they don't have nor the authority nor the ability to do that. You really think you can force100.000 people to hand you their cameras and check the memories of anyone of them ? let's be real please.

Maybe some footage will turn up, someone must have been filming the aftermath of the sutil crash.

We never ended up seeing any footage of Di Grassi's installation lap crash at 130R either iirc, although I'd assume the reasons for that would be different to this

If it is indeed his hand, this makes perfect sense. I doubt many who saw it will forget Senna moving his head :-/

Slightly morbid, but I feel like your unconscious deserves some praise for that level of organisation.

Amateur video of what happened after the crash. You can clearly see the engine cover on the car but later images revealed it gone together with the rollhoop. My theory is that the rollhoop snapped and the engine cover moved backwards during the crash. Both later removed to attend Jules.
