But if he went under it head on, wouldn't the actual front of the car be torn to pieces as well?

I think the rumors, about Jules hitting the truck head on are true. Look at the antennae in front of the cockpit. They are all bent backwards, towards the cockpit. Also, the headrest which was put on top of the engine shows a lot of scratches on its top-side.

That would explain why one of his tyres was lying there. I just wonder how the car ended up behind the rear of that tractor.

This reminds me quite a bit on Las Vegas 2011. Hope we have a way better end this time!

Prayers for Jules right now!

I don't understand how the car could end up behind the tractor if it went under the middle of it...they would have to somehow lift the tractor to access the car...we're just using pieces of informations to understand something we having seen happening, i think it's of no use...

I can understand the broadcasters from not wanting to show vision of the accident until they are certain that everything is ok.....but by not doing so, all they do is perpetuate the rumors and apprehension towards the crash. I'm not saying we need a million replays in super slow mo, but one replay (they can pixulate the actual impact if they are concerned about it) I feel is warranted in order to stop false and misleading rumors/opinions being put about.

With the amount of gore and truly horrific violence that is shown uncensored on the news these days, they can hardly be called out for being unsympathetic/barbaric.

I would assume it went all the way through and out the other side, with the rear suspension assembly striking the back wheel of the tractor as it left, leaving it stuck there.

Basically, Mika Salo is one of about 12 people who has seen the crash so he would know.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

look onto the ground. there is a massive bright line from left to right, which leads exactly underneath the tractor. I think he didn't hit him exactly in toe middle, but slightly from the side. Look how the left rear of the tractor is at an angle, presumably the tractor was pushed to camera-right.

from the pictures TBK posted it looks like it simply hit the back of the "tractor".. which is beyond where the car ended up..

You're assuming the tractor is an immovable object, it isn't and could easily have been pushed away from the car upon impact.

fwiw the amount of damage to the rear of the car suggests that took the brunt of the impact to me.

It's been policy since the 90s not to show replays of a very serious accident. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Steve Olvey was responsible for the decision-making in IndyCar/CART, hence no replays of Greg Moore's accident. F1 may have been slightly slower on the uptake of it

Bernie and Max decided after Imola 94 that no replays would be shown until condition of driver was known, Greg Moore's accident was replayed in full, but only in Europe.

I just don't understand how the right front tyre was damaged. That is so strange.

Unless the accident was caught on live TV, there would be no replays until the condition of the driver was known.

(hence they showed replays of Burti in Spa for example)

They still have shown replays of most accidents quite immediately, for example Kubica's Canada crash.

It probably hit the barriers in front of the car at reduced speed.

I´m thinking about that the Tractor kept rolling a few meter after the impact until he knew what had happened.

Maybe
