I remember 2008 having a decent finish with Biffle, Kenseth, and Edwards going at it. Also Kurt trying to murder Tony's pit crew the year before.

2012 chase race. I was watching a VT that started 00h30 AM and got really turned up as a lot of people got caught 1/2 laps down after a caution late into the green flag stops. Nerv wrecking race, as rain in my area made the signal going on and off.

Have we already forgotten the exploits of one Donnie Neuenberger?

The 2004 spring race, where there was a Talladega-esqe wreck in 3 & 4.

And how could I forget the first race on the concrete surface in 1995 and this humdinger of a Big One?

500 mile races at Dover would have been absolutely insane. A feat of endurance.

Don't forget that pileup in the 2004 race was after about 45 mins of yellow as they tried to sort the field with their electronic scoring loops after a caution during the middle of green flag pit stops. 25 laps under yellow, wave the green, then SLAM!

My favorites are the end of the 97 race when Jarrett and Gordon got caught up in a backmarker wreck, then Ernie Irvan hit oil and spun, and finally Ricky Rudd won the thing. That was also the last 500 mile race at Dover. Also the end of that 2004 race when Kasey Kahne had it won and hit oil and wrecked with 9 to go.

Yeah Hermie Sadler had his left front wheel go through the boiler plate wall.

Tom Carey's wreck in '99 might be the worst one Dover ever had. How he didn't die is a miracle.

It was in 2000, but you're right, that wreck was brutal in a season filled with bad wrecks.

I think my tickets are in turn 4 for this weekends race so I'm hoping for some action on that end of the racetrack. The last time I was there was 2002 so I'm hoping the traffic situation has been improved, it was pretty bad when I went in the late 90s.

Earl had a huge one in the '03 truck race. I haven't seen footage but from the pics it looked fatal as fuck.

I believe the pics were on truckseries.com but that site is down now

edit: I found them on an old sg post

I was at that first race on concrete in '95. I was a huge Rusty fan and seeing him invovled in a lap 2 wreck sucked for next 498 laps. Kyle Petty winning helped ease the pain.

Also, Jeff Burton's wall pop in '94 was nasty....

I had never seen the Earl Truck wreck before... the pictures make it look way worse than it actually was, but then again, it *could* have been a lot worse.
