Relevant observations: I didn't know Curva Grande was called "Biassono", or that the kink before Ascari had a name and was deemed a "curva" of itself.

Legendary track, but sadly never produces thrillers. Even the 2008 wet race was borefest.

Thursday Press Conference will be interesting since Nico & Lewis will be there.

unlike many fans, I've never been a fan of this track. A few reasons
1) race length is too short (yes, I know it's the same race distance...)
2) I can't think of exciting racing taking place here in recent decades. Schumacher vs Hamilton in 2011 was probably the best
3) first corner is so bland. I used to love it when it were those two chicanes in quick succession.
4) Parabolica - come on, is it really such a good corner? I fail to see that.

1. Yes.
2. Probably yes. The atmosphere though. 2006 was brilliant, even though I was in no way a Schumacher fan. Almost eery to think of that race now.
3. Yes, very much. The double chicane was brilliant, but a bit dangerous. The design of it was one of the main causes of Ronnie Peterson's death, but at the end of it life it was okay, altough Ralf and Herbert had a moment there.

Patrick Tambay said that Parabolica used to be special when you had to lick the outside line, almost on the grass, a few meters from the barrier, one hand on the wheel and the other on the gearstick.

Otherwise, it's still a cool corner, better than your average 180 sweep because the exit is in curve so it's trickier to estimate it. Granted, not as tricky nowadays with the grip they have.

I prefer that old configuration too. On the R.Schumacher/J.Herbet thing, I believe Ralf clearly cut across Herbets racing line & braked at the same time...

On Australian TV, last F1 telecast Alan Jones said he wouldn't be surprised to see Bottas take his first win. It's quite possible provided Williams have the correct strategy.

This, please. And for the champioship's sake: Hamilton 2nd, Rosberg out in spectacular/controversial fashion --> 10/10 race IMHO.

2004 was brilliant, 2006 was a bland race but seen as great because it was Schumi's final win and his "announcement".

If they wanted it on the entry fine but putting it all the way round to the exit but leaving some gravel there doesn't make much sense. They should also have left real grass there rather than replacing it with the astro-turf.

With talk about what speeds to expect, On the F1 app Fisichella says he thinks they will be hitting 360Kph.

I could live with the tarmac on the entry, but seeing the cars flirting with the grass/gravel on the exit was simply fantastic. Well done for ruining that. :thumbsup:
