There was a fair chance that Rosberg could have lost more of his wing whilst Lewis carried on without a puncture. I don't think you'd take those chances, surely?

It'll be interesting to see further statements from Mercedes.

Nah, Rosberg hasn't had more luck. He's driven better. Lewis has made frequent mistakes in qualifying and when the cars were fragile, Rosberg got his to the end and Lewis didn't.

Lewis is a phenomenally talented driver, possibly the best on the grid. But Rosberg wraps his skills up in maturity and clever driving. Lewis has never once managed this at any point in his career. He wastes his skills with poor race craft.

Should have thought of that before backing Lewis, eh Toto?

If a person is a c**t the color of their skin is immaterial, there's tons of instances where same race team mates have fallen out over the years and race had nothing to do with it, one person was simply a wanker and the other someone with a low tollerence for bullshit.

The only people who bring race into it are usually the ones who have no other argument in which to defend their beloved from their shit behaviour, which undoubtly was the sole contributing factor in most relationship breakdowns.

I met Lewis when he was 13, he was a cocky, over confident self obsessed jerk unable to see fault in his own actions then, still is today.

And the other one was never really competitive against him

If there's one good thing that might come out of this season (in my eyes, at least), it's that maybe people will rethink 2007 and just who was responsible for that

I also wonder if anyone would have reservations about taking that second Mercedes seat if Rosberg does go. It'll probably still be the best car on the grid but surely whoever takes that seat will be doing so in the knowledge that they're going to be Lewis' number 2. Could be an interesting silly season

This is too funny.

Before the season began in earnest, people were like "oooh, a new Senna v Prost scenario!", which I thought was very silly. But they are really going at it, aren't they? Nico's ego has really grown out of control, if he feels he had to prove a point. Really unprofessional to feel like that, but I think the move itself was absolutely warranted. He's a racing driver after all, and then it was Hamilton who was the sore loser, giving up and all that nonsense.

None of them are like Senna, and none of them is a "Professor", at this stage, both are clowns.

The car will only be dominant while the rules remain static, if the rules change or other teams find out what trick Merc have that's giving them the advantage, then it's game over for them.

Contuary to popular belief Paddy Lowe didn't design and build that car in 6 months.

Or perhaps Alonso was just desperate to get out of a shit environment which led him to try and blackmail Ron?

I must be the only person in history who doesn't consider Alonso at fault for that whole debarcle.

Nah, you're not

As Ellis said, it's quite telling that Lewis has continued to fall out with team mates since and Ron has had a history of falling out with his drivers but that Alonso has only ever really fallen out with one. Not that he wasn't at least partially to blame, but that clearly this idea created by the British press of a good guy vs bad guy narrative wasn't necessarily representative of what was actually going on. The problem is the British press is so powerful, the perception of Alonso as the bad guy has stuck, even after patching up relations with Hamilton in the years since

Similarly, it's going to be a while (if it ever happens) before Rosberg is viewed favourably by the media here again, regardless of what he has actually said and done. I think he has been dignified all year and has fought hard when no one really gave him a chance against a faster driver. To see him be treated like this by the press, his team mate and his team is quite sad and unfair*, especially when you just know that the media will persist with Hamilton's comments despite Toto Wolff dismissing them as nonsense

*but still very entertaining

Well, Alonso has done very well at falling out with everybody else and making a tit of himself. It wasn't the British press who called him a samurai and the one true winner etc. Alonso is perfectly capable of making a fool of himself without somebody helping him. But I guess Lewis managed that quite a lot as well.

So, let me get it straight. First, Hamilton, with his emotions high, blames Rosberg and makes it seem like Rosberg is the one to blame. Some hours later and Mercedes says that it was misunderstood etc. Wow, nice way to handle situations, indeed.
