I wish the race would have gone the full distance and ended under green but I'm not complaining about the winner.

Should of ended it tomorrow. This is just another reason why auto racing is viewed as a joke to common sports fans who will never view it as a full fledge sport.

NFL and NBA don't end there games early or call them at half time if severe weather hits. They play through it or delay it till it can be finished.

They wonder why they can't get fans in the stands anymore. Who wants to pay for half a race with no finish.

RIP TINY LUND GRANDSTANDS BTW.

But the problem is even worse with local racing.

Hey look, we got the heats in but it rained. Sorry Charlie, you'll have to pay next week for DOUBLE FEATURES!

You're quite correct, the NBA don't call off games if there is a storm.

Yeah it's a miracle we got any racing in today, total washout after it was called. Look we got 100+ laps only 10 of them were boring single file before a pits stops. We had an all star wreck for starters then a massive big one with Kryle getting put on his roof. A first time winner who was a legit contender. Pretty good race IMO.

8/10 race IMO. The racing was some good ol pack racing, and the bottom line wasn't exactly the best line. I would've loved to see one of the Labonte bros make it a victory, but Aric has been pretty decent all year. I think he deserves a win. Shitty way to end the race but in the end, it was the only way in hindsight. Great finish in the Nationwide race too. Put this weekend under "decent" for NASCAR's standards.

NFL and NBA maybe, but what about MLB? They call games after a certain point (I forget which inning).

Either way, at least you're not crazy enough to join the crowd that is saying that the race was fixed so that the 43 would win.

You mean besides the fact that NASCAR only gets mainstream coverage outside of ESPN if there's a ridiculously massive wreck, somebody gets maimed/killed in the race, somebody gets maimed/killed in the stands, or some other random act of God?

On another subject: how long until Bruton Smith inevitably announces that he's building a retractable roof over Bristol?

Seriously though, the suggestion that a racing series should attempt a 3rd (or more) rescheduling of a race to out-last a major storm cell can't be serious. NASCAR doing that would be far more of a joke than just ending the race early as every other racing series does.

Not to mention comparing NASCAR to non-racing sports has probably done the most harm to the sport in the last 15 years.

They should've just put wet tires on and opened up the road course.
