The only other hybrid (besides the Toyota) to completely break down so far is a brand new car. And it went for a good 7 hours longer. Pretty embarassing for Toyota considering they were by far the favourites for this race.

The most historically reliable car ever could have a fault and break down after 10 lap, it happens and hardly something Toyota should feel embarrassed about...

It doesn't happen to Audi though, that's why they keep winning.

Toyota would also have more of a chance if they brought a 3rd car.

Both the cars still running have had issues though.

Audi have been doing this race since Moses walked the earth, they are expected to know what it takes and worked out the gremlins from experience but it doesn't mean they are immune and if they did retire in the same manner it wouldn't be something for them to hang their heads in shame for either. I'm sure the staff at Toyota have put in 110% in every department to produce their best product and with as much experience as Audi have it would be a betting man to suggest they couldn't be as reliable either. Porsche no different.

Their performance in Silverstone was awful, but look how they've progressed.

Oh I see what you did there.

Audi will win this, they are unbeatable and super-reliable. :whistling:

We're used to the cars sandbagging on test day/practice, but for Audi to extend that to the first 3 WEC races was pretty extreme :p

See you in America in September!

Toyota needs to field 3 cars. Porsche needs to sell a car to a costumer (Penske please), because as I have said before the race it's almost impossible to win it with just 2 cars.

How many did Ferrari announce in that hugely important and massive announcement before the start??

*Still bitter*

Even Peugeot ran three cars. Plus a fourth customer car.

That makes no sense for several reasons.

Apparently that was planned with the #95. Four laps in hand they can do that without concern.

#66 binned it

And Nissan announced 3rd even before they have a car :D

I think the Toyota bean counters still have nightmares of F1 spending. With this rate they're going to have some new imagery for nightmares.

It's been a good race. Shame to see the 14 Porsche in the garage :(
