Final Richmond TV Ratings: Fox Sports earned its lowest NASCAR television rating in 13 years televising the sport last week. NASCAR Sprint Cup racing from Richmond earned a 3.3 final rating and 5.6 million viewers on FOX last Saturday, down 11% in ratings and 8% in viewership from last year (3.7, 6.1M), and down 8% in both measures from 2012 (3.6, 5.9M). The 3.3 rating is the lowest ever for NASCAR Sprint Cup racing on FOX, falling below the previous mark of 3.6 set on multiple occasions. Of the sixteen lowest rated Sprint Cup races ever on FOX, fifteen have taken place since the start of the decade. Of note, ten of the sixteen lowest rated races have taken place on Saturday nights, including five from Richmond alone. Last week's 3.3 rating also ranks as the lowest for the spring Richmond race 2004 on FX (2.9).

Dead fucking Sport. NO ONE HAD FX IN 2004 AND IT STILL GOT A 2.9 Now they can barley get a 3.3 on fucking FOX?

Dead fucking Sport

Yeah they never have yellow flag finishes at their biggest races either eh?

NASCAR changes every other god damn rule, why not do something as simple as that?

NOPE GOTTA END THIS SHIT UNDER YELLOW.

The one thing I really like about ARCA. Green flag finish no matter what. They even mentioned that last week at Salem. "GWC till the cows come home".

The ARCA racing series has the right policy. Re-start as many times as it takes to finish the race under GREEN. Not hard to do.

I have a real, honest question here; after the whole pack is far away from the debris.....WHY THE FUCK CAN'T they send a cleanup truck out there to grab that piece of bumper and get the fuck out of the way, quickly?

Or we could go back to the rules they had before the GWC and what IndyCar uses then the Edwards wreck would have ended it.

That was really good racing, no single file, you had your wrecks, and unfortunately safety takes the win today.

Biffle 2nd again by the way lets blame him, because Hamlin was going to get there first anyway.

I know they "had" to throw the yellow. I know it was the "right" call. But it is just so disappointing. All that racing for that. And Denny wins.

The racing was great all day. There was literally no point at which they went all single file. When was the last time we had that? And then this finish.

The last lap crash at a plate track finish is the worst of them all and it happens at least once every plate weekend.

On the bright side, at least we didn't have issues with the weather this weekend unlike almost every other one this year.

That would pose an even bigger problem: the timing. The last thing you want to see is a racecar colliding with a safety vehicle.

People complained and NASCAR boasted about making sure the race finished under green *cough*

But TK fucking won, who the fuck cares that it finished under yellow.

Talk about Debbie downer, I guess whoever wrote that was instructed to ignore the fact that no other broadcast that night beat it...

As for dega, right call, but a pita with their present white flag rules.

The white flag was already in the air if you go back and watch it. So it wouldn't have mattered.

The bumper wasn't resting in the middle of the track until after the whole field had gone by.

Exactly. And of all fucking people, it had to be Hamlin out in front.

Then we can talk about illogical rules and slow officials.

NASCAR is a show, and this show was the worst there was.

This is all good fun but TBH I'm really enjoying the restrictor plate package atm.

Finish was regrettable but overall the racing was what we've wanted from plate races for so long but rarely got.

Oh well, there's always TONA and DEGA2

I mean, NEVER WATCHING AGAIN, WORST FINISH IN HISTORY, TERRIBLE SERIES, WHITE FLAG BULLSHIT etc.

We are witnessing the pussification of NASCAR.

I can't remember being so disappointed after a race. I know we have seen this before (dega 04 when they yellowed it for a single car spin with no damage and gordon won as jr was setting up a pass comes to mind) but something about this one today just feels extra shitty. Gonna gather myself and watch the rangers beat the penguins.

IIRC, at Martinsville one year, the white flag was out, but Gordon hadn't crossed the line yet when the yellow came out. Another GWC.

Hamlin won that one too.

Why wait so long for the yellow? That bumper wasn't going to move itself anytime soon.

It doesn't help that Nascar only hires crew cab long bed F350's and 300lb track workers that can't get out of their own way.
