Probably 10 place grid penalty

Disappointing how these drivers do that.

Are you referring to Hamilton's comments about not being able to see in his mirrors?

Two penalty points for that? That's harsh. Wonder how many you get for accidental collision? 5? None should be the rule. Mishaps happen. Intentional harm is different. Guess Michael would have get 10 penalty points alone for Monaco 2006.
Being in the wrong place at the wrong time a few more times and it's 1 race ban for Bottas.

Partially. I got the wrong end of the stick with that comment, but his attitude has just generally been poor. He's telling the engineers he can't see and needs advice. The same man who told the engineers to stop bothering him when they told him to change a setting to stop his differential falling apart. Just really annoys me how he acts.

Phenomenal driver, spoiled kid.

I get you, although I'd say Vettel's behaviour has been worse. His attitude in Australia was poor and the way he spoke / screamed to his team over the radio was disappointing to hear.

I didn't hear that (missed a lot of Australia due to poor net connection), but you may be right. With Lewis I find it worse because he's done it since day 1, and I expected him to improve and he hasn't. Vettel (and Ricciardo) have a right to be angry with RBR - the reliability is pathetic at best. With Lewis, they actually try to help him and he acts like a child. Then throw in childish tweets towards other drivers (his one with Jenson was particularly cringe-worthy), hanging out with rappers to be cool, getting swagger font-ed rubbish on his helmet, and requesting stupid shaped hats, and he just comes across as a completely dis-likable person. There is not one aspect of Lewis that comes across as positive except that he's a phenomenal driver. Every other driver has at least some positive at times..Lewis is just a wee brat tbh.

Wow, pretty anti-Lewis sentiments in there.

I always try and refrain from judging drivers by team radios (because we only hear select snippets) - Ricciardo was yelling to "get this Williams out of the fucking way". I bet if Lewis or Seb said that, there'd be hysteria.

He has been petulant at times? Of course he has. So have a lot of them. It's just who he is, but he's not a bad person.

Besides, a lot of the field have those 'stupid shaped hats' now.

I don't disagree with you on Lewis however I would say Vettel has no right to be critical about Red Bull. His screams and comments in Australia were akin to my four year old son having a tantrum, but this is a 4 x world champion who has had a very fortuitous run of the green these past few years. He's also had almost everything spoon fed to him and had the team's backing through the team orders issues (that's not to say he hasn't worked hard or earned his successes by the way).

Lewis contradicts himself and makes himself look a fool in public forums. Vettel throws his dummies out at the first hint of things not going his way, ignoring what he's actually got / had / achieved.

No, they all have their moments. Lewis just doesn't have anything but those moments. I'm not saying he's a bad person, I'm saying I find nothing likable about him at all. Not liking someone and thinking they're a bad person and very different.

Lewis is one of those drivers who I admire constantly because of his raw skill, car control and sheer determination. When I witness it I pray he never opens his mouth....and then he does. It's continually frustrating as there's no other driver I want to like more, as he's fecking spectacular to watch. But at every opportunity he says something daft. Today to me was a great example. He wants the engineers help...after previously saying he wants left alone.

I know what you're saying. I feel almost exactly the same way about Alonso.

I do too, but I don't even admire Alonsos driving if I'm honest. Whenever the car has been blamed, Massa, who we all seem to agree is not that good, has out performed him. I admire Lewis more than Alonso from what I've seen. Those 2 together were equal, when it was Hamiltons first season. I don't rate Alonso anywhere near as high as what others do, but I realise I'm a minority there.

This! Imagine football or cycling had 'team radio' live on television. Everyone blaming everyone for everything. Heat of the moment etc.

The Williams was on an outlap, it should have gotten out of the fucking way. Sorry Valtteri.

I would quite like to hear communications in other sports. Wenger's dugout if he's losing must be fun. Or listening to Cavendish insult various Giant-Shimano ham'n'eggers for getting in his way.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

"If" Wenger is losing? With recent form as an indicator, there is no "if" about it.

I reckon in a pub, Lewis is probably one of the more down-to-earth drivers to actually talk about random shit to.

However, from what's seen on TV, I will agree with ellis and say that it's really hard to properly like Hamilton.

I thought Vettel staying in the garage in Australia and sitting with his team to show support / talk about his car was quite good; other drivers stalk off with their helmets on to their motor home.

I didn't realise he had a toys / pram moment. I can't help but say I enjoy seeing him have it difficult, and awkwardly, I don't like it when he overcomes those difficulties by turning up his awesomeness a few notches, which is my way of saying that, rather oddly, I find Vettel more dislikable than Hamilton, even though the evidence should have it the other way around.

But then I'm a human being, and therefore not liable to make any kind of logical decision.

I try not to care too much about anything the drivers say or do outside of the car, it's only their actions behind the wheel that I'm interested in.

And as people have said, we're not getting the entire full information. From what you'd get over team radio last year, it seemed Jenson was the whiniest driver out there (something that seems to be furthest from the truth in reality) because we'd get about three times more messages from him over the radio than any other driver.
I honestly think that had to do with the fact he had a better microphone and you could hear him more clearly tbh, either that or the TV director really had it in for him.

When Lewis sent this now bizarrely infamous radio message I honestly thought he was just communicating to the team that he couldn't see in his mirrors and maybe they could spot for him using their radar on the computer.
Especially with Nico in close proximity, it was pretty necessary to get that message out there.
And this is the guy that was the only one wondering why the safety car was staying out in Korea 2010 that time when everyone else was bawling "too wet!!" so I don't think he was suggesting anything to Charlier.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Probably won't rain :p

did anyone else think alonso's cut down on kvyat looked suspicious? it just looked strange the way alonso turned so far towards the corner based on the line the other drivers took through there.

not saying it was def one way or the other, but it looked slightly intentional to me
