I will be there :)

I agree with that comment about the Barely a Celebrity Challenge. I reckon they could put people from sim racing in those cars and they'd outrun the "celebrities". I mean how hard is it to drive a Mazda?

I'm genuinely excited about the season opener - like each year - but this time there are so many uncertain variables that can make the weekend truly historic. How fast are the cars, is Mercedes going to dominate, how's everyone's reliability, how will the newcomers do, what's the weather like etc.
Albert Park track itself is one of the few remaining challenges where going off means either getting stuck into gravel or wall. With that in mind combined with poor reliability, I suspect finishing the race will automatically mean points.
Can't wait for FP1!

Woo, I've booked off the Friday to watch free practice, although I won't watch it live.
Very excited about this season opener. A little unpredictable, full of pre season promise.
Very much enjoyed the race information.

This could happen, and I wouldnt mind too much if it did. Practically the same team did a similar thing last time there was a major rule change in 2009. But like most people Id like to see a crazy race with about 4 cars finishing, and a Marussia on the podium

You mean Ricciardo will try taking everyone out at turn 1, Vettel will chase down the field and win then cut his hands on the winners trophy?

I've just had a look at that track map Scotty, and I can't see any General Admission areas from turns 3 - 7. Do they still allow spectators there? They was my de facto viewing spot when I attended races during the early 00s especially turn 3, I found the sensation of the speed of the cars to be the most dramatic there.

I also remember in free practice 2001 standing at turn 7 for ages, was changing film on my Nikon ( yes that's right changing film haha) and missed Heidfeld go off in the Sauber right in front of me, then walked away to a new spot at turn 5 and missed Schumacher do his barrel roll. It would have happened right in front of me if I stayed just a couple of minutes longer! I had my camera ready to roll.

I just love the Australian GP, it has a very special feeling, since Adelaide days! Fans are awesome over there! Wish there was still Adelaie in the calendar! Melbourne is also a great circuit and the perfect place for a championship start! The track is awesome, the views are beautiful! Can't wait for that! Also, this can be the most unpredictable season oppener in a long, long time! A 1999 like race would be welcome!
