One model is calling for up to 13 mm. It's still early though.

Going through the old forum is enlightening, we were all sitting there predicting rain weeks before the race then bemoaning it when it didn't happen....

Nothing ever changes eh? :p

we have had rain in the past, and quite some amounts as well. Only it never really hit during the race. The closest it came was 2010 with the track being damp.

In 2002 there was rain during morning warm-up and rain wasn't too far away on other occasions either.

The rain seems to come on Saturdays here. I vividly remember (was it 2004?) when cars would set a very slow lap time during Q1 so as to run early in Q2. Only, the rain never came.

I won't complain if we do see a little bit of rain (unless it's enough for a red flag/SC, and we know that doesn't require much). There's a part of me that is equally happy to see it dry and work out where everyone is pace wise. So yeah, I'm actually excited about an F1 race. It's been quite a while since I've felt that way.

*Waits for all the cars to finish the race and nothing of note happening*

I'll be in England for the Aussie GP. What time is the race?

Hope it's dry - I'd hate the weather to cause crashes when the sheer hilarity of the mechanical failure festival we'll see on Sunday will be more than enough entertainment for me. :flag:

Some places say atleast 10mm on sunday, some are saying up to 30-40mm but I'd say some point in time on sunday there will be a downpour.

probably 10 minutes after the finish of the race, after continuous messages saying "rain in 10 min" for the duration of the GP.

I haven't seen those messages in at least a year, not even when there was a threat of rain.

I remember seeing the 'official announcement' first for the Nurburgring 2007 race. They were bang on, lol.

can't recall seeing it on many other occaisions.

now they rather zoom in on the radar which teams use on the pit wall and which displays the incoming weather model.

McLaren have changed their livery for the first race. They changed the silver for black on their sidepods. I'm wondering if it has something to do with their new title sponsor coming up in the next few weeks according to Ron Dennis.

anything will be better than the boring pre season livery from McLaren, unless they put red on it

Does anybody know which support series races/sessions are going to have live coverage on Australian TV?
