Brights penalty was fair and fit the crime, his antics took another car out of the race. The points penalty for giz for doing the same thing is also reasonably fair imo, the outcome didn't result in a retirement or anything detrimental to eithers race and thus shouldn't result in a penalty as harsh as driving which did.

Deliberately or not, Slade was tough (in a much more dangerous area), Bright was tough back. "Have at it, boys".

Well if you're going to retaliate then prepare for the consequences if you put the guy out.

Great racing so far though. particularly race 3.

Think they've done a good job with the new chicane though

As much as I wish it wasn't there, I guess it's now deemed necessary and the way they've designed it seems to encourage late braking and overtaking while still giving cars a chance to get a run out of it into the previous tight right hander it was designed to slow cars down before.

Reminds me of Suzuka's final chicane tbh.

There is no margin at Pukekohe.

Australian motorsport legend, founder of HDT and the one who found us the great talent of Peter Brock, Harry Firth sadly passed away today at 96.

He was also a highly successful driver, winning what is now the Bathurst 1000 four times as a driver and the inaugural Australian Rally Championship. All of that occurring in the 60's, when he was also managing the Ford works team.

Your right to an extent, he won two Armstrong 500's at Phillip Island with Bob Jane (1961 and 62), then two at Bathurst in (1963 and 67). Sometimes the races are linked as one, other times they are considered seperate.

I personally think his greatest feat was what he did with the Falcon GT's on the 1967 London-Sydney against much more specialised 'rally' machinery.

Over his time he also strongly helped the careers of the likes of Colin Bond, John Harvey, Wayne Negus and gave a leg up to Peter Crick in speedway racing.

Utes at Barbagello, ridiculous they didn't put the safety car out for that stopped car on track and sure enough, another car clipped it a full minute later and caused major damage. Officials should be held accountable for lapses like that.

Been awhile but the series is alive again this weekend in Darwin.

Will be interesting to see who has found something from the test as well, the Walkinshaw cars tested a plethora of new components and we have quite a lot of new toys being introduced engine wise, so that lengthy straight will be telling, depending on what they decide to do aero wise.

Tyre degradation will be of importance this weekend too with the teams being given limited rubber. It's expected that for Sundays race they will need to do a stint on a set which would have already done qualifying and a 100km race so strategy will be important for that one.

I believe there are utes and F3 as the main supports as well.

Was a good finish on Sunday.

Saturday's races were absolutely abysmal. Not a surprise considering it was Whincup leading wire to wire.

Sunday was pretty good, nasty moment for Dahlgren, stuck throttle.
