Dang, that's what I thought - just get a neverending "input can't be opened" error when I do that. My VLC must be busted.

Make sure the link you paste in has the 'http://' part included. I personally use MPC-HC which seems to use less CPU for me. You can download it, press Ctrl+O, Ctrl+V and Enter.

A lot of them seem to be on ustream so just download the ustream app and cycle through them there.

Thanks for the tip - gave MPC a try but it gives me a "failed to render file" error when I try the above. Clearly I've got computer issues. Thanks for your help though.
