Hmmm...but look at all those LMPC cars faster than LMP2s. Is aero so irrelevant at Daytona or that Chevy in the back of the old Orecas is pretty powerful? Or what?

Honestly I expected more from the Ford engined DPs, I thought they were iin for a fight for the pole. They got beaten by Hartley (I guess) with an old Dinan/BMW.

Man, the 'Vette DP's are gorgeous.

Nope. They used to show them live on Speed2.com but that's been abandoned to the tumbleweed by the new owners and they don't even update it's monthly schedule any more.

There's a delayed highlights show on Fox Sports 2 at 6pm but very few people seem to have access to that channel.

I'm not entirely sure what they thought the result was going to be porting the Skyactiv into a prototype. Even with 50 extra HP it's still hideously slow in a straight line - one of the slowest cars in the entire field in the speed traps!!

It is obvious that the P2 cars haven't bothered at all with qualifying. No way Picket Racing is slower than the Delta Wing or that Oak will be behind the PC cars on race pace.

Well it might be behind the DW, because now that they're deciding to go full retard with the BOP they can do whatever they want. And since they want the DW to be seen as some sort of magic car that changes the world as we know it, just wait for that to get performance breaks to get the speed up. It'll break anyway so it doesn't matter, but still.

As for the DP owners whining about slowing the cars down - these times show they have a significant advantage that was gifted to them because the cars weren't good enough to compete with the LMPs in the unchanged state. I'm not liking this sense of entitlement that the DP owners are begining to show. n

When they brought the fields together we knew that the DP's weren't able to hang with the P2 cars based on the rules package they ran previously. To keep saying the DP's were gifted this that or the other thing is getting tiresome. It was either slow down the P2 cars, speed up the DP cars, or make all DP's obsolete and force the teams to buy P2 equipment. The last option was never in the cards, so pick your poison from the first two.
