What a great morning to wake up! El Banco finally gets booted and Kimi gets the teammate he's always wanted. After he hangs up his helmet, the Scuderia still has a bright future with Seb. Finally Ferrari is on the right path on the way to their glory days. :D

I wonder if the friendship between VET and RAI will stay? Supposedly, Alonso will take Santandar backing with him, so that the Ferrari is 'clean' again?

The #14 is the RA300 Italian GP winner from 1967. The #5 is the 1968 car.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Alonso - Vettel team up at McLaren was not something I thought of immediately.

Vettel is off to Ferrari with Kimi, and from 2016 there is Jules.

Alonso to Mclaren. Probably with Magnussen

Redbull confirmed Ricciardo and Kvyat, which I don't support,Vergne prooved himself as a good driver,I'm sure he would do more then Kvyat,he's ok but nothing spectacular. Vergne is just overlooked year after year in Redbull, hope he finds a seat somewhere,Force India is an option as i heard.

Kimi and Vettel, perhaps the best friends in the series. It's just natural they should be team mates and I think friendly atmosphere helps Ferrari as well.
I feel bad if Vergne gets sacked; it just proves that personality and marketing value override racing success.
And after Button gone Alonso gets the mantle of most experienced driver status. And there won't be driver that has raced while Eau-Rouge had gravel. Time flies.

France is a terrible market, for a country which effectively founded motor racing they've got nothing left in F1. If Vergne was Russian he'd be safe IMO. But he was burned by the early Verstappen call and now there's no way RBR will pull a PR disaster and confirm him for next seasons. The door is closed and quite frankly Sainz must be breathing a huge sign of relief. Because if Vergne's exit wasn't confirmed earlier, he's be dead in the water again. However I believe if Horner knew about Vettel leaving before the Verstappen announcement he'd have left Vergne anyway. Just bad timing for JEV.

Anyway, it's obvious RBR has lost it's sweet spot with the engine becoming far more important than chassis. And this will be like that until the next major rule overhaul. Newey realized his wizardness is useless under these rules and so did Vettel. RBR might be poised for a number of wins but no way they will repeat the 2010-2013 heroics with that Renault engine. And if Honda kills it off the bat, that's more trouble. Ricciardo isn't spoiled with success so he can lead the team through this era but for Vettel, fighting for podiums and counting on other cars' issues is just too bleak scenario. Add the Ferrari lore, the bigger paycheck and a chance that Ferrari's engine will be better than Renault's and you've got the reasons for him going away. Getting outshined by Ricciardo wasn't a factor at all IMO. But RBR is a customer team and there's little chance they will work as close to the engine supplier as McLaren with Honda for instance.

I have a question: During the 1982 season for example, Brabham ran with two different engines. Do they count as one manufacturer or two manufacturers in the manufacturers championship? On Wikipedia they count as a single manufacturer, and I'd think that makes more sense, but on the official F1 site, they are listed as two different manufacturers. I would guess that the official F1 site has all the correct stats, but I'd like to make sure. Mostly because I think it makes more sense to list them as one team instead of two.

Ah, I see. Must be the Wiki article from 1982 that is wrong then. Thanks!

If Marussia have the option to bring both cars to Russia & find a temporary driver, who do you think is the most likely to get the seat?
