It looks boring as hell. Reminds of of the Valencia track. Which sucked too :)

I just put a tenner on Ricciardo as WDC, to the odds 91:1, so AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE

Which make you think: they make Parabolica at Monza more safe with tarmac and then Sochi has similar parabolica with no runoff at all. Could this track be even better than Singapore? At least it's improvement over Valencia

The bend is very wide. It's difficult to get a sense of the scale without a car on track, but I expect the F1s to look like tiny toys on there, so it's not exactly Tamburello mk2 either.

Still, it's really cool to see barriers and fences that close, will give some sense of speed.

Indeed, Coulthard in 2007. I don't remember the reason though, mechanical?

edit: yep, I found the TV angle, something broke: http://www.streetfire.net/video/f1-2007-monza-david-coulthard-crash_645852.htm

What is really the "worst thing ever?" Max getting the drive or Villeneuve's opinions on F1?

Villeneuve

Kals? Or Jaques?

Old Man Jaques isn't ever right about anything, ever, he just is the real life troll, only courted for his extreme "the end of the F1 world is nigh!" opinions.

I agree with Villeneuve, his analogies suck though, but his principle I agree with.

JV is wrong. The rules for getting a superlicense have always been the same, including the time when JV secured his. Why is it now that it is a problem for JV? What devalues F1 or the superlicense is someone coming in, getting the best equipment and endless testing yet stumbling to a world championship followed by abject failure in all subsequent years.

Worst thing ever that Gilles Villeneuve did.

I whole heartedly disagree with you here Kals. JV and others had at least proven themselves capable in a top flight series (and champions to boot) where as Max will have had 1 years car racing experience. Now the kid maybe the next coming, but to me that is just absolutely irresponsible. He comes to F1 the supposed top flight of motor sport with a total of 1 years car racing experience, with ZERO F1 testing. Now if he had been testing an F1 car throughout the whole period and been smoking it, then maybe, but he hasn't.

To me that is a smack in the face of what little integrity F1 has left, and yes it devalues the sport in my opinion.

Kimi had at least 23 car races before his F1 debut.

Assuming he completes the rest of the F3 season, Max will have 44.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

It isn't about the super license. I'm sure he can handle the car. It's about putting drivers in cars too early and ruining their career.

And as long as people keep using exceptions to prove the rule then we'll continue to cycle through young drivers at a record rate, whilst they disappear off to Formula E and commentary booths around the world.

Arguably, Max will have had more competitive outings as a junior than Kimi did When he gets the seat.

And Kimi turned out to be pretty shit didn't he?

He also tested the car 3 times before being signed and wasn't a 16 year old kid. They are the 2 main gripes that I have. He has been signed to race in the upper echelon of F1 without ever sitting in a top flight race car, and at 16 has had absolutely no time to hone his skills in high powered open wheel machinery. Maldonado doesn't count in the hone the skills department, cause he's just an outright dipshit.
