5 year deal supposedly.

Reports apparently don't mention which track will be used. Ted Kravitz mentioned not long ago that there was a lot of talk in the paddock about a street race in Cancun.

I hear it will be at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
The track where they race last time in MEX.

Sure some modification on track will be made..

You can be pretty sure Parabolica won't be included in the layout, because Herman Tilke will rape it hard.

Phil1993 posted a picture of the supposed "revised" Hermanos Rodriguez circuit in September 2013, but I can't find a copy of it.

I doubt they would even consider running through the peraltada, Theres no run-off, Its pretty narrow through there & with the wall on the inside its pretty much blind, And obviously its very fast.

If someone was to crash there at probably 180mph+ & end up sliding down onto the track, not much room for the cars behind to avoid the car & with it been so fast & blind there's no time for them to react to try & avoid it.

My guess is that they will do what Champcar did & run through the stadium. Guess an added bonus to that is that the stadium will get a few thousand more fans in.

The layout above looks like the one the track owners put out last year & its not really that bad, Apart from the stupid hairpins in the stadium. If there going to run through there, Use the Champcar stadium configuration or come up with something better, Not worse.

OnBoard from the 2002 Champcar race, Including the stadium layout:

And from 2007 where they had a chicane:

Yeah, was just minor alterations iirc. Think it included the full Peraltada too, albeit slightly altered

That's a butchered Parabolica indeed. :slaphead:

Kinda reminds me of the Indianapolis F1 track, the last part where they enter the oval.

Or blame the tracks for hiring Tilke. If he isn't forced upon them by the FIA.
Different designers will have different views on how to tackle the restrictions. You can see that in the noses of this year. Several different noses within the same restriction.

Never blame Tilke, the FIA are the idiots.

This is what Tilke can produce when he is given no restrictions.

IMO Tilke has ran out of idea's. Every FIA track he delivers looks the same.

Just look at a track like Portimao, complies to FIA's regulation and still looks much more refreshing than any of the stuff Tilke has drawn in the last phew years.

As I said, different architects, different views. See the noses of F1 of this year.

Question about gearbox ratios.
Isnt it from this year restricted?
I mean you choose before the first race wich gear ratio will you drive all season long.
And now on the onboard Hockenheim race i saw Raikkonens Ferrari goes 325 km/h with DRS in 8th gear!
And RBR also barely over 320 km/h with DRS
What about in Monza will it still go 325km/h?
While the Merceds goes all the time over 345 km/h with DRS in 7th gear!!! and still has a gear to go 360.
So what i want to know is it still restriced from start of year or not? Or they can still change gear ratios for each race?
Cuz i dont think in Monza the Ferrari and RBR will be that slow on the straights with DRS??

Monza will be around 360 km/h this year (maybe 370?). They already did 340 km/h at Bahrain.

Thats not the answer to my question.
I wanna know if the gearbox ratios are restricted? I mean how they set them before season started so they will race the whole year with this ratio.
Or they can still adjust them for each race like previous years?
