to be honest, fu them. The event may be host in barhain but is shown worldwide. If Martini gives money to williams to show their name worldwide, than they should show it even in Barhain. This is even more stupid if you consider that the reason is that some guy who doesnt represent nothing for the rest of the world 1400 years ago told them not to drink.

leave that to Le Mans

F1 mileage only allows close racing and races to see who's the fastest

Remember that the time when we had actually battles in the field because slow drivers were able to make their car as wide as possible, so drivers actually had to fight to get past.

What's the fuss about alcohol sponsorship? It was banned in France for years and teams just didn't run it. In FIA GT the Porsche 911 GT1s ran Warsteiner on the side, for Le Mans it changed to IBM. Jaguar ran Becks on the bardge boards and removed it for the French GP.

Williams just won't put Martini stickers on in Bahrain. So who cares?

Or Malaysia. Or Abu Dhabi.

It didn't used to be a major issue, but now that Formula 1 is moving into the developing world, there have been more races held in countries where the most popular religion is Islam and alcohol sponsorship is not particularly welcome. There are three races at the moment where alcohol sponsorship is tricky. If France comes back, that's 4. If Turkey ever comes back, that's 5. If Qatar gets added, that's 6. If Morocco is successful in their quest for an F1 race, 7. Indonesia could well want a race at some point - 8.

Obviously alcohol is not a major sponsor in F1 and has not been for a while but in the future if there are teams who are interested in doing a deal with a Martini or a Diageo, then the number of races where the logos would have to be covered up could well become a stumbling block.

It's not a pressing issue but I think it is something interesting to look at and infinitely more useful than moaning about the good old days.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Fucking great.

The reliability better be as batshit insane as people are predicting because there might not be too much else to watch.

I'm suddenly depressed when I think about this season.

And that when I was looking forward to it for once :(

I actually think that the racing will be more interesting and dynamic then in other years. We're not in for classic F1 boredom where it's all follow the leader type racing. Tyres will be less of a factor, yes, but from a drivers perspective that is a good thing

While I agree this was an exciting section of this GP I disagree wholeheartedly with the point you're making. GP racing through that era was largely dull and overtaking attempts typically resulted in crashes, spins, etc... all because overtaking was next to impossible. And funnily enough that is what your video demonstrates... twice...

And let's not get into the "overtaking with DRS is far too easy" discussion as a response to my post, as we know that is definitely not true.

Technically neither do I as I use live-pause on my FIOS box a lot during a race.

2013 - Pirelli is shit, Vettel is a twat, F1 is broken
*Formula changes*
2014 - Oh God F1 is shit even though there's not been a single race yet

F1 logic.
