What a orgy of those noses today...! Especially Force India and Caterham's.

Thanks Toto! I actually liked the sound of the new engines, much deeper than the old V8s

I like the whistling from the turbo.
It has a nice building up sound like a airplane.
Now imagen all those cars together on the grid, i think that will sound badass.

it's not that they look ugly that bothers me. It's the fact that they look stupid.

So can we bring back the old nickname 'teapot' for the turbo engines as Renault earned the nickname when they launched the first turbo engine in 1977 and it sounded like a whistling teapot.

About the sound, it reminded me a bit of Grand Prix Legends for some reason.

The sound is good but it just needs a bit of getting used to. As does the look of the cars, that Caterham's nose is just... wierd

I'm quite fond of the new sound to be honest. Sky just showed some stuff with Ted at the final corner with Kimi doing some laps & it sounded quite nice.

There not loud like the old engine's were but they have a sweet sound to them.

they need to be louder. I remember my first time on track, must have been 93 for sure there still were 12V. THe first time i heard a f1 passing by, at full throttle, on the monza main straight i felt my brain and chest were being raped. It was like the whole car entered into my right ear and quitted from my left ear. That's the way it should be for everyone.

How do you know how loud they were without being at the track?
It was mentioned by a few people on Sky today that the new engine's are a lot quieter than the V8's & that they no longer needed to wear ear protection while in the pit lane.

That been said, It was also speculated that teams were running well below the 15k rev-limit in order to get mileage to better understand how the new cars & systems are working before really pushing them. Mercedes were said to be running at 10,000rpm during Lewis' fast laps.

I expected that. I just cannot grab files and see pictures from Toto's server. We discussed it privately a few months ago, nothing would work :( Only if someone uploads Toto's files elsewhere so I can see them. But who would do that only for ONE "disabled" guy lol ? :p

If they were talking about the diesel engine on the Le Mans prototypes, it is an internal combustion engine.

If they're a similar to the IndyCar but with more grunt, I'd love to go see them if I could afford to. I understand the disillusion when you compare them to the V10s and V12s of days gone by, but the V8's always sounded like shit to me. Especially when they cut the life out of them in 2009. These sound throaty, and the V12s and V10's did too.
