Glad I'm not the only one. It looks a mess.

The Force India livery reminds me of this

Not sure if I'm a fan.

black and orange is always a step in the right direction. The white and green ruins it though.

2000 Arrows was great. The step forward they managed to take was huge.

I kinda liked the livery, reminds me of 90's midfielders and backmarkers

too bad they just photoshoped into a last year's model, just changing the nose shape

F1 team doesn't want to reveal their 2014 secrets early shocker. :8:

As for the paint job, I like it.

I won't make my judgement before I don't see all angles possible. And besides, Force India will still improve the back of the car, so...

The livery is strange....don't have an opinion about it yet. It's just strange so far....I want to see this car in action before saying livery is good or bad.

Wanna bet that most of teams will have their car noses similar to Formula Renault 3.5 ??? You wanna bet? Yeah, they will all, mark my words.

Brundle says that the pay drivers situation is unsustainable. Eje Elgh doesn't mention Brundle by name, but tells him to STFU and that he doesn't know anything.

(Is Brundle a driver manager?)

In a podcast, Elgh describes how a driver progresses to Formula 1 (Ericsson the case in point). Very, very interesting. Only driver that he can think of that has come into F1 who hasn't paid a buck for his seat, was Kimi Räikkönen. Other than him, every other driver in F1 is a pay driver. The discussion with Caterham started two years ago.

According to Elgh, Ericsson is in F1 on merit just as much as anybody else in the field.

Elgh needs to get his facts straight before telling someone to STFU.

Here's the article where Brundle talks about the pay driver situation in F1 - http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/112101

Nothing of what Brundle says is untrue or warrants the ignorant response from Elgh.

either define "pay driver", or get seen as biggest rubbish of the year

Maybe not "STFU", but the pay driver debate is misleading. Every driver has to bring something, obviously.

To me, Eje Elgh is the most dependable voice in the paddock, but as he usually only works with Swedish interests, it's hard for him to get acknowledged by international media. He's a treasure for Swedish TV.

I think it's now a weigh up of talent/money. You don't get no-hopers in F1 any more but you get different levels of funding.

Sutil is a pay driver as he has a few personal sponsors. So is Maldonado. But Maldonado has won a GP2 title, so he has talent to justify an F1 seat. Perez is bringing sponsors to Force India, Williams has Massa to open up the Brazilian market. Santander has big involvement with Alonso.

It's a very complex situation.

Ericsson isn't in F1 on merit as you can argue that there are several drivers with better results than him. For now, he is a pay driver as the money has no doubt swayed Caterham. But he has talent and if he can then develop into a good F1 driver then he can lose the pay driver tag.

Also, sometimes you have to ask why a driver can't get funding. Nationality helps big time but if someone like Leimer cannot get funding but Ericsson can, it might be down to the driver or their manager. In most cases you don't get one big company just throwing money around at a driver for no reason.

I shouldn't have used the term "STFU", sorry. Heheheee. But the discussion Eje Elgh lead in a Viasat Motor podcast released today was very, very interesting. The work behind getting a new driver into F1 is enormous, it takes years. And Ericsson is in no way unique in that way. Kenny Bräck started this project 9 years ago in this example.

Indeed. Ericsson himself had no idea on what his management was doing. They told him to focus on his driving ONLY. The management team kept everything in the dark, and Elgh was even in a meeting with Stefano Domenicali once. This is a victory for Swedish motorsport as a whole first, for Marcus Ericsson second.

lol at this, from Caterham team boss:

"Kids should be dreaming when they see a formula one car," he is quoted by Reuters. "I don't know what sort of dream or nightmare you will get when you look at those cars.

"It does remind me of (the film) Alien, with something coming out of the mouth and whatever. It's not very nice."

Personally I think at least one of the teams should get a condom sponsor on board for the nose "appendage", haha you could imagine Jordan doing something like that, back in the day.

No and no.
The Force India has a nose similar to the early drawing that was revealed by Scrabs and Autosport.

The white painted part is the actual "nosecone", the low black part at the front is that thin pillar.

Did a quick and untidy mockup replacing the white with black. Would have been much better IMO.
